Back in the 1981 I was 12 years old, I was 4 years into my Elvis fandom, I used to collect the Elvisly Your Magazine (No internet back then unfortunately) I have to admit when I first saw the picture of the Queen and Elvis together I thought it was a little bit shocking! It's not scandalous or anything but living in Britain the monarchy was a little bit off limits in terms of what you could do and seeing this was a little unusual. 1979 and punk rock had basically stamped out that taboo with God Save the Queen . The inference was Elvis was the King (Obviously) and he was with the queen. I love a bit of nostalgia.
