Our Memories of Elvis Vol.3

VOLUME 3
Victory Records
LP + 2CD
After the untimely death of Elvis in August 1977 Elvis' record company quickly reissued a big part of the Elvis catalogue on vinyl. The demand was obviously huge and the staff had to work overtime. The last album released during Elvis’ lifetime was ‘Moody Blue’. Between all reissues, ‘Elvis in Concert’ (the last “planned” Elvis album) was released. The double album was awarded gold & platinum in October 1977. After ‘Elvis in Concert’ a lot of compilation and special product albums were released, but Joan Deary definitely felt the fans were in need for something special. She released ‘a legendary performer volume 3’ containing some unreleased tracks. Shortly after 'A Legendary Performer' she produced the excellent release ‘Our Memories Of Elvis’ in February 1979. The album claimed to contain tracks without additional accompaniment, but for real the album featured stripped down versions, not the undubbed masters that the fans thought they were listening to. Although not being as big of a seller as expected, the album has always been a fan favorite and paved the road for a 'volume 2' and for later releases like the ‘Elvis Aaron Presley’ box set and ‘Greatest Hits Volume 1’. A volume 3 of 'Our Memories Of Elvis' was planned but never realized, until now! Now available is this super limited edition 14 track 180 grams album. This release contains two bonus cds containing the LP tracks and many bonus tracks.
This is the pure Elvis!

Mmmm…interesting. At first I thought this was a special RSD album. Now i wonder if this Victory release will get targeted by the same anti-MRS gang and get accused of copyright infringement and using home computers to tweak the sound from official recordings and where the majority, if not all of the above recordings are certainly not in public domain….anywhere. And it looks like they have even copied the font style for authenticity too.

I just wanna keep those awards of yours coming my way. In the meantime, I guess I could run with this French RSD release.

I have all of their LP releases (including the RSD releases) they do a good job and are unique in there own way, although many would disagree

Unnecessary crap release. And yes, either artifically created tracks with semi-stripped down versions or AI-tweaked.
Either way sourced from originally offical material and hence stolen in the first place.
I don't understand why anybody would want to spend money on such garbage.

Yes agree, and same with Studio Anthology 1973 from another topic.
How many times are they gonna re-release these things.
Its just throwing money out the window and also these will have no value in the future.
Anyone wanna listen to these recordings should get the original source like FTD or as a last resort get DL links/CDR versions.
If people didnt but this crap they wouldnt be released.

Received it last week... Lovely release, sounds and looks excellent (got a green one), the two full bonus cd's are nice too have too.
I know that these kind of releases get a bad reputation over here, however i buy what i like, and this is one of them.
Some may find it crap, me not... to each his own.

Classless behavior, Cisco. Disrespectful towards a fellow board member and classless.
