Whole Lotta Shakin Goin' On (unedited version)
I'm Leavin'
T.R.O.U.B.L.E.
I Miss You
I Got a Feelin' in My Body

Danny Boy should be in that list somewhere, too, as should I Really Don't Want to Know and Funny How Time Slips Away.

Accused of being "a nerd in his 20s." I wish.

A neat topic, Ciscoking. Also, that FTD release is an excellent release!

For today, my list would be (in no special order)...., I assume your not speaking about the album but 1970s recordings in general:

* You Don't Have to Say You Love Me
* Let it Be Me
* Mary in the Morning
* Promised land
* I Just Can't Help Believin'

How about one from each studio year?

Off the top of my head today:

1970
Life

1971
Miracle of the Rosary

1972
Fool

1973
My Boy

1975
Woman Without Love

1976
I'll Never Fall in Love Again

Tomorrow might be different. It's a mood thing.

I see it. I happen to like 4 of the 6 chosen there.

That said, he and I are going to discuss this at our upcoming dinner in Memphis.

Elvis was no longer really the king of rock and roll in the 70's as the decade was dominated by ballads. However he did turn in some good ones, although far too infrequently. My all around top 5 songs are

Burning Love
Promised Land
Way Down
TROUBLE
Always On My Mind - to me his best ballad on of the 70's why oh why wasnt this the A side!
