The front cover has a black background and the title is proudly displayed in the middle. The words "In Store Sampler" are written at the bottom of the cover in white letters. The inside of the enclosed booklet lists the 15 tracks included on the CD as well as the contents of the '50's box set itself. The rear cover lists the tracks of the promo CD on a black background. In addition, the following phrase is printed on the rear cover: "Promotional Copy. Not for sale. If you paid for this product, call CRIA hotline 1-800-668-8820". The CD itself features the "Elvis - The King Of Rock n Roll' logo at the top of the disc which has a turquoise background. The song titles are listed on the disc in black print. On the left side, the RCA and BMG logos are printed as well as the warning: : "Promotional Copy. Not for sale. If you paid for this product, call CRIA hotline 1-800-668-8820".
This promotional CD was given to Eaton's shoppers who purchased Elvis products worth over $25.00. Needless to say, this promotion was a tremendous success for Eaton's and was repeated by the company when the '70's box set was issued. The artwork for this CD is identical to the above release except that "Eaton" replaced the words "In Store Sampler" on the cover and disc. In addition, the enclosed booklet includes a photo ad for the 50's box set on the fourth page. The rear cover also contains the same warning as the release above. The CD itself is also identical as the "In Store Sampler" promo CD except for the replacement of that phrase with "Eaton". The disc also contains the same warning as the above release.
The artwork on the cover and on the disc is exactly the same as the U.S. release. However, this Canadian pressing contains a lighter shade of yellow on the back cover. In addition, the back cover and the disc state: "If you paid for this product, call CRIA hotline 1-800-668-8820". Also, the disc and the rear cover indicate that the release was printed and distributed in Canada. The front cover displays a color picture of Elvis as shown in the '60s box -set booklet on the page where the American Studio data begins. The inside cover contains a color picture ad for the U.S. version of "The Complete '60s Masters" box-set and its contents. The back cover lists the contents of the promotional release and contains the following phrase: "Promotional copy - not for sale". The CD itself is a two-color picture disc containing the same picture as the cover.
The artwork is more or less the same as the previous Eaton's promo except this time the cover background is red. The inside of the enclosed booklet advertises the '50s, '60s and '70s box sets and the back of the booklet advertises the "Command Performances" 2 CD set and the Canadian version of "Elvis - The Essential Collection" release. The rear cover also states: "Promotional Copy. Not for sale. If you paid for this product, call CRIA hotline 1-800-668-8820". The CD itself is pinkish red with the song titles listed in black print. The disc contains the same warning as the rear cover.
The front cover utilizes an interesting concept: the left half shows the Canadian cover of the commercial "Essential Collection" CD release and the right half sports the cover picture from the '70's box set. The rest of the booklet and the back cover list the tracks included on the CD. The word "Elvis" is written across the entire back cover and contains the following warning: "Promotional Copy. Not for sale. If you paid for this product, call CRIA hotline 1-800-668-8820". The disc is silver with black print listing the titles of the songs on the CD. The word "Elvis" in a light shade of black print covers almost the entire disc. In addition, the same warning that is listed on the rear cover, is also printed on the disc. It is a true rarity.
