These negatives depict incredible images of Elvis early in his touring career, playing piano and jamming with Scotty Moore. The candid shots show a playful Elvis at the piano with cousin Gene Smith, who frequently travelled the road with Elvis in the early days. These amazing images, possibly unpublished, show both Elvis’ serious and playful sides during this practice rehearsal circa 1955. Elvis began performing on the road in 1954 with Scotty Moore and Bill Black and ramped up to a heavy tour schedule in 1955. The black-and-white negative strip with six images provides a peek, behind-the-scenes, of Elvis in the early days of his fledgling career. The negative strip measures 1 3/8 by 9 inches (3.49 x 22.86 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

In 1967, Elvis purchased a grand French Regency style house located at 1174 Hillcrest Drive in Beverly Hills, California. Elvis, Priscilla and Lisa Marie enjoyed time spent in this home, which overlooked breathtaking panoramic city and ocean views. Fans would frequently gather at the gates of the home and Elvis would often appear to sign autographs and take photos. The offered stunning black-and-white photo was taken at the gates of Elvis’ Hillcrest home, and is signed “Thank you / Sincerely / Elvis Presley” in blue ink atop the white jacket that Elvis wears in the picture as he gazes lightheartedly over his shoulder at the viewer with a fan looking on from the background. This memento embodies the lively personality and graciousness of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The photo is matted and framed to measure 14 by 16 inches (35.56 x 40.64 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The signature on the image is dark and bold and the photograph is in Excellent condition overall.
