These are great, I wonder why these pictures were made...
There must be more from this session?

the B/W version has a different meal and clouth for vernon and dodger.
Looks like dinner and the other 3 like breakfast...

Yeah, I mentioned 'different date (see clothes and table)' in the original post. I guess the pics were made for an article. For a German magazine perhaps?

Also notice on the 4th pic Elvis has no stripes on his shirt (arm).

Nice detail, maby this clears up a year. Funny is, grandmother is holding almost the same plate, everybody is in the same position and is wearing almost identical clouth... strange...

who can help, with more information. Elvis didn't let a lot of reporters inside his rented house.

Sincerely,
Erik van den Berg

Great photos, thanks for sharing! It is interesting that containers of Black Pepper and Milk both have the words in English printed on them. Surely these everyday products in 1959-60 in German grocery stores would have come in packaging that were printed in German.

I could understand that black pepper could have been imported to U.S. troops from the States, but exporting milk wouldn't make much sense because it can only stay fresh for so long. Does this mean that German milk was packed using packaging with English names, and sold to the U.S. troops?

I think maybe Elvis bought them (pepper box etc.) on the PX shop for soldiers on the base.
That's why in english.
And those products were generally cheaper in the PX shop.
So maybe Vernon bought them.
