Thanks, The fool ! That was a nice read.

Those sessions will always be special within Elvis' legacy. They may not have captured him at his absolute best, but they are definitely something special.

It's important to remember that when cousin Billy Smith wrote down his memory of the Graceland recordings in typically graceful fashion, it had only been three years since they happened. Although short on specifics, he does capture the upside of these sessions in February and October 1976. His extreme detail of Elvis playing bass on "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" remains very intriguing, since this has since been disputed.

Smith does forget that the October 30 date went up in smoke when a delivery of motorcycles arrived.

After calling it quits on the session, Elvis outfitted The Stamps in some of his Superfly outfits, and gave J.D. Sumner his white Lincoln limo. J.D. loaded his Superfly Stamps into the vehicle and headed for Nashville.

At some point along the way, the guys pulled into a McDonald's drive-thru, where a young, black guy was working the register. He hands the Stamps their burgers and fries. J.D. leans out the window and says to the kid, "You be cool." The fellow's response, after seeing the clothing and the car? "You IS cool!"

Thank you very much, "The Fool"for this wonderful article. It seemed Elvis was in a happy mood. The only mistake was that Billy wrote that the Moody Blue was the 2 billionth's record Elvis made, which is not true, it was RCA whole catalog of records of all artists.

Thanks so very much. This is a new read for me. I had the pleasure of meeting him in 1980. I remember him as being very kind and saying nothing bad of Elvis in any way.
