This is remarkable! The fidelity of the recording is amazing - and we're only hearing it via a video camera mic! Imagine how great it would be to hear properly mastered. I don't know the cost, practicality, or effort involved but this is surely a "stop the presses!" event. Get this thing on the Tupelo set!

Hopefully Ernst has got in touch with this chap.
I'm simply amazed that he did not do some research on this before he put it on you tube, anyway great to hear this mega rare performance.

I don't think it's too important this audio isn't on the set. The set will include all known Sun audio up to the book going on sale officially. There was always the chance there was going to be more recordings unearthed after the release of the book. So what? It could have been unearthed a year later, a week later or whatever.

I think we should just celebrate its existence, and if Ger is right and there's another 'Forgot' unreleased on the Sun set, then we're getting two new versions! Happy day!

Stunning. I'm willing to wait another year for the SUN book & CD set if it means this will be on an official FTD release. I'm even willing to pay more money. Or maybe a single disc "addendum," made to match the others.

Well it is a pretty incredible find - and the fact that we've waited SO long for the SUN FTD and then just on the Dawn of its release, another track from the era turns up in mindblowing quality and will NOT be on the set kinda makes this all the more noteworthy!!!

This is Ernst's Friday the 13th Punishment.

It kinda sucks - well it sucks BIG time that it won't be on the SUN FTD, but it's brilliant to finally have it!!!!

It won't be on the box, Ernst mailed me some hours ago the following:

Wow – it’s unbelievably beautiful.

I’m still trying to recover from the shock

I am almost weeping while listening this.

File it alongside the first Hayride performances of 'That's All Right ' and 'Blue Moon Of Kentucky'.

A moment of extreme beauty.

Good to know that Ernst know about the recording by now, and understandably that he is in (Some kind of shock). It will be interesting to see how he will be handling this......will he (Sony) be buying the recording and put it out on cd
We don`t even know if the owner(On youtube) of the tape want`s to sell.......guess he is confused by knowing now that it`s a really rare recording he has.

Perhaps now it's a sticky we can get rid of the 'You' from the thread title?

We don`t know how many old tapes is out there, some might have tapes but don`t have the equipment to know what`s on them. We were lucky that this youtuber has the equipment to actually be able to play the tape.

Yes, it is ridiculous that this beautiful performance appears out of nowhere just before Ernst's BIG release. And the owner is so unaware of what he has on his tape recorder... But it is a good day to be an Elvis-fan!

It is interesting to see if MRS gets this one released before Sony.

Great sound quality AND the performance itself is better than the studio version!

Just like the rest of you...W O W!! I can't imagine somebody thinking this is a fraud. It's so diiferent to any version we've heard before. The singing and phrasing are out of this world. It's hard to believe this came out now and won't be on the new Sun set.

Life is amazing, isn't it?

If there is something I never make a mistake is with Elvis voice and as soon as I laid my ears on it, I was sure it was Elvis Presley!
