Best Edit of 1968 comeback special?

I wanted to get everyone's opinion here. I strongly feel the cut of the special that was released on VHS in 1985 and first broadcast in 1978 was the best version. Binder has said this was his original cut of it. I feel badly in a way that this isn't on dvd. At least it could have been on the stand alone one instead of that horrible new edit.

I know the poll is now closed, but does anyone know of a web site or book that gives a break-down of the various edits? It would be nice to know the differences between each "version".
