Elvis Dolby audio Apple Music question.
I see that the Elvis Dolby releases on Apple Music are in Dolby Audio, not Dolby Atmos. My question is that if they play on dolby atmos hardware, like a sonos era 300

They will still play you just wont have a dolby atmos effect.

Re: Elvis Dolby audio Apple Music question.
And what’s the difference between Dolby audio and Dolby atmos? Because all Dolby material from Elvis is just Dolby audio , while Sinatra has songs mixed in Dolby atmos.

Re: Elvis Dolby audio Apple Music question.
Dolby audio i believe is just a fancy term for stereo audio while atmos is suppose to give you a wide scope of sounds / instruments. With movies for example you can hear a helicopter fly over your head with a good atmos setup

Re: Elvis Dolby audio Apple Music question.
But the Dolby audio mixes are the 4 channel quad mixes correct? From Elvis In Memphis sounds amazing via Apple Music's Dolby Audio, my go to for this classic album. Now if only FTD/Sony gave us a bluray with these I would pay top dollar.

Re: Elvis Dolby audio Apple Music question.
Yes they’re the quadraphonic. That’s why I asked why Apple Music labels these selected mixes as “Dolby audio” and not “Dolby atmos” like the rest of its multichannel catalogue.
You play fly me to the moon by Sinatra from the ultimate Sinatra comp and it reads “Dolby atmos “. You play Elvis today and it reads “Dolby audio”. (Just to clarify, if you play a non multichannel album it just reads nothing.

Here's a thread from reddit that goes more into detail if you're interested .frus75 wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 7:15 pmYes they’re the quadraphonic. That’s why I asked why Apple Music labels these selected mixes as “Dolby audio” and not “Dolby atmos” like the rest of its multichannel catalogue.
