I hesitated in composing this response, not least because it represents further "drifting" / "magma" disruption. But I felt it needed saying:
Thanks, Cryo, & don't worry about it; you're a good kid & your head is on pretty straight - you'll do alright in life, as you are off to fine start. Never stop learning, ever.

Btw, ....... JMO, but it seems to me that the ultimate form of intolerance on any MB is telling another member where they should / should not post.

One last random Hawaii-related EP tidbit:

A very nice lady over there (born & raised in Hawaii) & I were once talking, it turns out she was a very young girl when EP was filming "Blue Hawaii." From her description, it sounds like she was around the day that EP & Joan Blackman were filming that scene where they meet the "teacher" at the hotel to discuss EP being their Hawaii "guide."

At any rate, she described a scene where somebody went up to to EP (dressed in a white suit that contrasted deeply with his very dark jet black hair - she remembers this very vividly) and told him he was "gorgeous" (or something to that effect); EP's response, in the sincerest & deepest southern drawl was simply "Thank You, Ma'am" ........ and he blushed when he said it. She also vividly remembers that he was exceedingly polite - to everyone.

Thanks, N8. That's very kind of you! Kinda overwhelming, in a way. You know I've always liked you. I get myself into tricky situations at times, but .... ah, well. My endless genuflection might be a source of embarrassment to some, but you always take it the right way. I guess my tedious literalism ruins all the fun at times. Like it's doing now! On that note, let me jump to your anecdote:

Great story! The "exceedingly polite" part sounds just like EP ........ and while the blushing sorta fits, I've never heard that before! That's got me thinking. I always wonder: when EP looked in a mirror, what did he see? The way he always kept his women to himself and resented random compliments paid to them by other guys (if I've got that correct) suggests a man deeply insecure about his looks / personality. I've always found that aspect one of the most fascinating -- and I'm sure I'm not alone. But is this just projection? I really think I hear that sort of soul in his recordings -- and it appears to be backed up with ancedotal evidence (e.g. the way Priscilla was sorta "wheeled out" very briefly when The Beatles visited, according to them -- though, like any story, that ancedote could have more than one interpretation). I'm going out on a limb here, but the insecurity aspect, when contrasted with his talent, is probably what makes EP so endearing.

JMO, but it seems to me the ultimate form of intolerance on any MB is the dehumanization of another person because of their race, creed, color, lifestyle or political affiliation.

See ya!

You know the funny thing about we humans is, we can find something about anyone we dislike and be intolerant towards them.

The above you listed are usually the ones sited because its against the law to do so in certain situations, but many are intolerant of others because of their age, height, weight, social/finacial status, appearance, and overall knowledge of Elvis. It happens everyday.

Doc ..... just what the hell are you trying to prove? First, you had the nerve to dredge up your issue with me over the Liberace comments and now you're targeting Shane. I've seen four year olds with more maturity!
