To me, this is what Elvis is really all about! I wish they could have made a documentary on this, like the splendid ELVIS PRESLEY classic albums DVD.

I am not sure of the dates, I just know DJ did not expect to see Elvis in car driving around with her at the time. DB

If DJ is referring to the shopping event it was most likely when Elvis and AM went shopping to buy AM's landlady (Mrs Jorgensen....yes also danish) a present for her birthday (which they both attended) somewhere around Aug '63.

Obviously, no one expected them to be seen together 'en public' those days.....especially not without the entourage (who at times were told to clear out.....)

How different might Elvis' life -- and career -- have been if he'd stayed the course with Ann-Margret in August 1963? Food for thought.

RCA/BMG is in Times Square, kitty corner to BMG is MTV. What happened was a few interns walked across the street and saw these "fans" waiting to catch a glimpse of a star at MTV. We asked a few of them maybe 15 if they would like to have some lunch on us across the street and just listen to music. They were not prepped, we just played some music and they sat in the boardroom on the floor. We played them about 10 songs and the A/B tests, and then got some of their comments,
Most of them had no real prior knowledge of Elvis or his music and were not fans, just modern music fans. It was a good test.

When DJ said that was the best he ever sounded in made my year. I felt as if someone had taken a Piano off my back. Having said that I would like to think he was being sincere and not polite for the cameras. He called me a few months later and told me he listens to the record all the time and thats the version he plays around the house. He probabely has a better stereo now than when he was younger.

He also told me that Elvis had a phonograph player in his car between the seats and thats how they listened to records whilst on the road. He also said that Elvis would reference his records on that player whenever he drove to the studio. He said on tape that Elvis was often miserable with the final results. I never understood that, after all he was the king, he had the power to change whatever he wanted, maybe he just didnt have the technical ability to change it? Either that or there was really no time for quality control because of the constant touring and recording.

In a fantasy world maybe. His choice of woman did not decide the length of his life. No woman is that good or has that much influence and power. And don't forget that Elvis did not want any of his women to have a career or life of her own. That rules Ann out.

Your comments derive from a world of fantasy -- and jealousy.

For example, in 1963-64 Elvis tried very hard to get Parker to take over management of Ann-Margret's career.

The bond with Ann was unique, and lasted until Elvis' death.

Jealousy? That does not even make sense.

Elvis got over Ann like he did the other women in his life. Elvis appeared to have a special span of time with women and after that he got bored. And friends have said that he did not want his women to have a career. They would know. And the pattern proves it.

Though their love was very strong, I don't think their relationship would have lasted. Both were addicts, Elvis to prescribed drugs and A.M. to the effects of methanol. If A.M. had stayed with Elvis, if and how would Elvis have taken responsibility to support her through some very though times. Would he be capable to do it ? I am sure he would think he could, but the sad evidence is that he never took responsibility for his own life.

Though your question is valid, my opinion is that she would have been too weak to survive and would have died early 70's.

Elvis got bored with Ann....?

- Elvis and A.M. kept on meeting eachother during the 70's
- Elvis sneeked into her dressingroom early 70's , dropped to one knee to 'express his feelings'
- Elvis sent A.M. a flower bouquet at every Opening Night from 1967 (Riviera Hotel) till 1976.
- Ann was so surprised not to have received flowers from Elvis at her Opening Night at LV Hilton (Aug 15th '77) that she immediately felt something was seriously wrong. She was right...that strong was their bond.
- Of all actress / actors he worked with, I think A.M was the only one attending his funeral.
- Even after Elvis passed away, Vernon kept on asking for Ann. He simply adored her, they both laughed and cried together ...shortly before Vernon passed away...
- etc, etc

Elvis never got bored with A.M., they were soulmates and great friends for over 14 years - until his death.

Funny how this thread about David Bendeth and remixing has morphed into being about Elvis' love life.
