Do we know why Steppin’ Out Of Line has Elvis' vocals on overload?
I don't know why. But I do know that Elvis' vocals were on overload on this tune way back on the original "Pot Luck" LP in '62.

.
Not if they've been remixed from the original masters... that's what's lacking in the '69 American Sessions set.

I will be passing on this as I'm already quite pleased with my older FTD BH release - but I'm very, very pleased for those that were hoping to get their hands on the sessions without paying for the books.
I have to disagree with that statement, if you were applying this to the movies from 65 onwards I could understand. There is a reason that this film fared well with the general public, top 10 grossing movie of 1961 & 14th grossing of 1962, that's quite impressive by any standard. Blue Hawaii offers some of the best comedic acting seen in any Elvis film. Angela Lansbury is superb as Elvis' mother and the interaction between her and her husband, Roland Winters & Elvis is in my opinion as good as anything from a romcom of that era. Back to the music, I have the book and both book and the audio are fantastic but everyone to their own I guess.
Yes... the reason is sitting in the photo below... as a movie, Blue Hawaii was not good by any stretch...

There never was a take 3 of Ku-U-I-Po.

As for No More, I'm sure it will be there.

this might bode well for an audio release of the Elvis Now In Person 1972 set (at least the feb 1972 and Buffalo tracks) if this sells well enough.
I couldn't afford the BH Book set so i think this release is fantastic!

Nothing new at the horizon; as stated the audio is the same as added to Making of Blue Hawaii – book.
I wished the FTD team has added some extra audio now from demo's / rehearsels etc.
Example:

Moon burn
The song is written by Fred Wise-Ben Weisman-Dolores Fuller.
I’ve no information about the songspot in the movie.
On the backside of the Electrovox acetate is a demo version of Playing with fire.

As has been statetd there is no take 3 of "Ku-U-I-Po" - it was not announced by mistake.
Take 3 of "No more" is included in track 12 and is a LFS. Elvis and the musicians are pretty much trying to work the song out at this point.
As the CD is seemingly a straight copy of the previous release I'm sure it will also be included.

In terms of post-army movies I think BH makes the top two or three in terms of the music.

I think only a handful of tracks are good, the rest is your average movie tracks. In terms of a top three post army years, G.I. Blues and Viva Las Vegas are there and for me Fun In Acapulco gets in over Blue Hawaii, it’s a far more consistent listening experience with no real dud on the soundtrack, the latino sound suits Elvis more than the Hawaiian sound.

Agree. Elvis was in splendid voice during the Blue Hawaii sessions and there's some wonderful music to enjoy. But also a couple of real clunkers and some very average stuff. I prefer a number of 60s soundtracks to this one, including those you mention, plus FTD, KG, GGG, IHATWF and even Roustabout.

I don't agree: Elvis' spanish was terrible.
His hawaiian sounds a lot more convincing.

I have just ordered The Blue Hawaii Sessions. It may well be my final purchase of FTD's? I am one of those who really like Elvis' singing in the soundtrack album of that time. No wonder it fared well. Regarding the movie, I was never there when it happened. I saw a video tape copy years after, it's nothing worse or better of what came later. Still, one must not forget the timeframe and setting of this movie. It happened then! It was a great happening for Elvis and his career at that point! We all know the rest of the history! It was a moment in time! Like everything else: It was great then, and we like to remember it that way! Why turn it down? It is what it is! Pick out the first Beatles LP, listen and enjoy! You simply can't deny it was great, then? And even now? As for Blue Hawaii, I for one still love that album! I haven't seen the movie in ages! :smt020

Great news. It's not the price that makes me turn down the books.

But it's really boring seeing almost identical pictures over and over again. The feeling is like: when you take 50 pictures and keeps 5 of them for the future to make the album more browse-able and intersting. Then someone just recover the "Recycle Bin" and makes a mess out of it.......... not so interesting to me and I cannot imagine that many buyers will turn back to these books many times. So far I have seen mint copies only on the second hand market. Maybe an indication?

These books are more and more like "board books" for children. A few words and a lot of pictures.

I choose as you, the music.

For those who care, the above does not in any way describe the multiple Elvis books put together in the past decade by David English and Pål Granlund in conjunction with Follow That Dream Records.

In fact, it reads like someone who has never seen even one of their titles.

It's really uncool to post so deceptively.
