I never had something like that. Amazon just canceled my pre=order of Where No One Stands Alone, cause they were annnounced that the cd will not be released by Sony. Is this a joke, a spam or what? I checked my orders, and it's been removed. Anybody has a clue?

I hope FTD will upgrade the classic For LP Fans Only with its beautiful fullcolor closeup of The King. ::rocks

If they aren't going to start with VLV, I would love the 1970 TTWII rehearsals to be released through the 7" range, it's about time, no?

For the 5" release, I hope the May (or October) 1974 tour gets another release if soundboards are available, but that is my hope, in reality a soundboard set from 1971-1973 or 1977 at this point would be ideal.

For the LP, even though I don't collect LPs, the Elvis Sings Memphis Tennessee FTD would be great, I would definately get it if it happens.

So, I'm curious as to why so many are pushing for a 3-cd FTD of "Viva Las Vegas"? As I look at Keith Flynn's Elvis sessions site, there's not too many complete outtakes left unreleased. There's a lot of false starts still unreleased. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to all those and the studio banter as well!

If there is a 3 disc set offered, will it include everything we've already bought on previous releases? Believe me, I want the unreleased stuff too, though small it may be, but I also don't care to buy everything I already have...yet again. And I'm sure to add a 3rd disc they would up the price. Paying close to $40 for a single or even a 2 disc set is pushing it now.

Why not a 2-disc with what's left unreleased? It might even fit on a single disc!

Or how about offer the FTD's digitally as well as the option of the physical cd? I've been listening to Elvis music a lot through Amazon streaming and have wished many times that I could listen to my FTD's the same way.

Not trying to start an argument, but am I missing something in this 3 cd FTD discussion?

There's quite enough left to be released thou

12 takes of Night Life (Including 5 complete takes, thou the rehearsal and BD's could be complete too or near complete)
1 False start of the record version of C'Mon Everybody
9 takes of ''If You Think I Don't need You'' (BD's & False starts)
18 takes of 'I Need Somebody To Lean On'' (Including 4 complete takes, and 4 BD's which could be complete / near complete)
5 takes of Do The Vega (including 1 complete take and a BD that could be near complete)
4 takes of ''Viva Las Vegas'' (including a BD that could be complete / near complete)
8 takes of Yellow Rose Of Texas/The Eyes Of Texas (including 1 complete take, 3 BD's and a rehearsal that could be complete / near complete)
7 takes of ''The Lady Loves Me'' (Including a complete take, 2 BD's and take 4 is unknown if it's a FS or complete)
14 takes of ''You're The Boss'' (Including 3 complete takes, 6 BD's and false starts)
2 takes of ''Today Tomorrow & Forever, record version'' including a take that includes Elvis doing live vocals to a faster tempo arrangement.
5 Takes of ''Santa Lucia'' that are all complete
10 takes of ''Today Tomorrow & Forever - Movie Vocal Overdub'' that includes a complete take 8, the rest is unknown except for the master they chose which is take 10.

outside of all that (this amounts to 95 unreleased takes!), there are the movie versions that remain to be released, the ann margret tracks that remain to be released, and maybe thou i doubt they'll include them, several instrumentals.

Sorry I´ve to disagree on this with you!.

First we need an sonic upgrade, the first FTD was a Sonic disaster, too loud..... I´m sure they could even upgrade the latest 2014 The Perfect Elvis Presley Soundtrack Collection cd release of "Viva las Vegas".

Plus there are still lots of unreleased outtakes & they should include all the Ann Margret songs too!. Hopefully they include the alternate demo of "Appreciation"! :smt020. Bye for now :smt006.

Are we so sure it’s all available in the archives? Cause, it might be well only a paper listing. Can we have a confirmation from Keith Flynn on this? If not from Ernst? I wouldn’t buy a 3 cd set only for false starts. As far as I know, there are complete outtakes left unreleased but how many really?

How about the demo versions for the recorded tracks? I don't talk about the rejected demo-versions for this movie. It could be a fourth bonus CD with demo-versions.
Here some rejected demo-versions:

A – What a day - demo version was written by Don Robertson for the movie Viva Las Vegas but it was rejected.
His own recording (recorded may 1963) was released in nov. 1963 on RCA 47-8269.

B – The most wonderful day of my life
According to the pre-production script dated 11 june 1963 (page 38 scenes 103-106) it's a duet between "Lucky & Rusty"; finally replaced by Today tomorrow and forever (duet version track 2012).
I've no more information about the demo / songwriters.

C – Beat the bongo - simular sound like Do the Vega.
rejected in the pre-selection.

D – Lucky in Las Vegas
Written by Tepper-Bennett but rejected in the pre-selection.

E – I’d only love you more (Leiber-Stoller);
rejected in the pre-selection.

F - Jealous fool (Bob Saffer); in june 1963 recorded by Jimmy Breedlove (Diamond D 144). There’s a clip on YT.
rejected in the pre-selection.

G - The Vega # 1 (Joy Byers)
rejected in the pre-selection.

H - Classy chassis (Dolores Fuller-Lee Morris) * on CD Silver screen treasures vol. 1 mentioned for Spinout.
rejected in the pre-selection.

From CD Silver screen treasures 1962/65
Don’t fool a fool in love (unused demo)
Sweet dreams baby (unused demo)
This way to paradise (unused demo)

and there are a lot more

So is it your thought that a 3 disc set of VLV would NOT include material we already have...including the masters?

My assumption is that considering its suppose to be a complete session set.. we will get that what came before and new stuff because its suppose to be complete.

Fair enough, Let see what reality brings up. BTW do you agree with some that the first FTD release was a sonic disaster?

Well, it seems we can hope for the best then. Although I'm beginning to think it's a bit late now for August, wouldn't you say? No announcement yet. Doesn't look good to me. Could be coming only in October (?). If ever... That said, icome to think of it, why didn't they do a double volumes of it like G.I.BLues?

I wouldn't mind that.FTD should complete the "official catalogs" the sooner the better I suppose. Still it's fun to revisited great movie score like VLV and we could hope for more live outtakes from the 70's like On And Off Stage, next time maybe, the 1972 stuff.
Some late albums late 70's up to mid-80's could be used to released all kinds of outtakes both from the 60's and the 70's.

The question is ...will the complete VLV sessions fit on 3 cd's?

My assumption is that considering its suppose to be a complete session set.. we will get that what came before and new stuff because its suppose to be complete.
Also will they present each song and take in recorded order (my preferred option) or mix songs and takes around as the current FTD'S.

Fair enough, Let see what reality brings up. BTW do you agree with some that the first FTD release was a sonic disaster?
I definetly agree, like the 1 CD ''Viva Las Vegas'' was mastered too loud, another one that i don't really like the quality on is ''Harum Scarum'' and ''It Happened At Worlds Fair'' (Just compare take 1 of ''one broken heart for sale'' to the Collectors Gold CD set, the difference is staggering.

I hope they present them like recorded, as in the case of presenting the takes through each other, i'm sure we'd get alot of mistakes in take numbers, especially when dealing with so many outtakes.
