What a nice, catchy , uptempo song that Elvis recorded in May of 1966. I Like this song a lot , especially the alternate take 7 , that we can find on Essential 60s Masters:From Nashville to Memphis.
To me this is a very underrated song and it is such a pity that it did not chart higher in the tops .Maybe it's the fact that it was recorded in the mid 60s, the weakest Elvis period of recording in my opinion.(full of terrible movie soundtracks)
For some people , the song may sound out of date, but not for me. I really enjoy it , especially the saxophone part.

I think the song is ok! It's catchy, upbeat and drives along well! I used to like those two singles Love Letters/Come What May and Indescribably Blue/Fools Fall In Love. I recall Love Letters climbing to #6 in the UK singles chart back in the day!

I first heard this song on the tape that came with the Elvis cologne .Was a very nice surprise too.Thought and still think it was a nicely done song.
May be the first time we hear Elvis do a sort of yodel.

A nice song and a nice change of pace from many of the movie songs. In all honestly, probably would have done better earlier in the 60's. Nevertheless, I like this one.

It's a run-of-the-mill song with rather a hollow sound and a somewhat unconvincing vocal. The sound is not dissimilar to the Easy Come, Easy Go soundtrack - and that's not a compliment.

Not one of my favourites, then, but nostalgic associations can often colours one's view of a song - usually in a positive way ; so I've no problem with those who enjoy CWM.

"Come What May," which Elvis probably heard from the 1958 Clyde McPhatter single which hit #3 on the r&b charts, is a decent cover. The reason the Presley B-side did not impact the charts is that, by 1966, it sounded like a throwback to another era. And of course his dedication to releasing almost exclusively soundtrack material at that time had diminished his impact at radio and retail. So only the dedicated fans found anything worthwhile in it.

Sadly, i'm not keen on Elvis' version of this song - it sounds too fast to my ears.

I do actually like the song though but i prefer it by Clyde McPhatter.

Its oK nothing special. There were much better songs to cover if he wanted a throwback style. His vocal is too laid back for me and I dont like the fast pace the song is given. I think Spinout had better uptempo songs.

Didn't know the Clyde version.That's pretty cool.

Strange they picked it to go with that cologne, I'd have thought they'd pick something slower and more "seductive", as cologne is usually marketed as a tool to make people want to have sex with you. It is nowadays anyway, from the ads etc I've seen.

Catchy, fun, retro, r&b: I just love CWM which in my opinion is way above anything recorded for the Spinout soundtrack. The mcphatter version is just awesome.
