Thank you, Greg. This looks phenomenal. In particular, I can't wait to finally hear the original SUN versions of the various singles, as I've only heard the RCA versions. This is what it's all about.

All of this and an 11 pound book, too! Wow.

The tracklist still rocks!!! Thank you Ernst!
Now it is known that second studio version of "Tryin to get to you" exists and also "I got a woman"
But they do not exist!? They were 'lost'. This is what tracklisting above tells us.
How did they manage to destroy Sherif Hanna's acetate 'in the process' of transferring it? Or was it not Hanna's acetate they were using?

Because it is an old and probably very fragile acetate.

CD 2 appears to be a presentation of the complete Sun session tape reels that still exist. I will greatly enjoy hearing the takes as they were recorded and any studio chat that may have been captured on tape.

I asked the same question. I went to Keith Flynn's great session site and he has already updated to reflect this information.

Thanks Keith! Great work!

The Sun tracklist appears to be quite promising.

Great !!!!

I'll be looking forward to a few new takes/tries of Blue moon and Harbor lights, Shake rattle and roll Live 19th jan 1955 and the Hayride show from March 5th 1955. Have to admit I never really liked the song When it rains it really pours a lot
And of course the sound on the Sun masters !!!!!!!

But most of all THE BOOK smt125

The same thing happened years ago on the Hank Williams box set- the masters were on 16" acetates and at times the engineer had only one chance at playing them to transfer them to digital. The acetate coating (over an aluminum or glass disc base) would peel or flake off in pieces as the stylus passed over. Fortunately the recordings were saved digitally. If left alone, the acetate coating would eventually slough off on their own, and a priceless performance would be gone forever.

Nice track list :)

Was still kind of hoping that IFTRTF might have just made it and also that there may have been another unheard song on the set.

Still, look forward to the book as it was primarily a book project with bonus audio content after all.

Why quoting such a long track listing when expressing one's opinion about a fan club (awful or not). I don't get it either. :|
