Re: I Forgot To Remember To Forget You (LIVE) 1955
Holy S!!! I hope this is on the Sun box set. It sounds like there is no drummer on the recoding. Horce Logan makes the introduction and notes that song has been riding the charts for several weeks. What may help us date it is the reference to Buzz Busby and the Bayou Boys.
I checked Keith F's site and he has several advertisements from the Hayride. An advertisement for the October 1, 1955 show notes that the Buzz Busby and his band were being introduced on that show. The band and Elvis are also noted for apperances on shows on 10/8/55, 11/5/55, 11/12/55 and 11/26/55. Elvis also played the Hayride on 10/29/55 and 11/19/55 (which was a remote broadcast), The 11/19/55 is interesting becasue according to KF, I Forgot to Rember to Forget may have been played on the show and it is also the show where Elvis played Rock Around the Clock and a poor tape recording supposedly exits.
Here's the October 1, 1955 ad featured on Keth's site:

Totally agree. Superb sound, and a more gentle, slightly slower version than the original, but Elvis's voice is so sweet and clear. A stunning find !Renan wrote:AMAZING!!!!

If this has just appeared...Ernst should cut his ba**s.....maybe I'm wrong and this would be on the SUN box but I doubt it ...seems to be new discovery.
Can someone get the audio and post it on mp3 so that we all get it??

Re: I Forgot To Remember To Forget You (LIVE) 1955
See, that's the kind of reaction that a new find brings (especially one from the legendary Sun-era). That's why I'm always hopeful that more will appear...
Also always hoping that private collectors will stop sticking their heads up their asses and realize how much joy this kind of thing brings to us fans. To think that maybe more is out there in the hands of someone... Argh!

Another option is downloading it as a video with YouTube Downloader HD and then converting it to MP3 via VLC player. That way you can get it in the highest quality as possible.

Re: I Forgot To Remember To Forget You (LIVE) 1955
It's been suggested that it could be a fake.
The record version slowed down a tad, tampered with & overdubbed with the 'live' ambient sounds.
Hope not !

Re: I Forgot To Remember To Forget You (LIVE) 1955
Who says Friday, the 13th is a bad day?
Hot damn, that's purdy.
It's gotta be on the SUN project, otherwise it'd be already obsolete before its actual release...
Unfortunately you hear the sound of the tape recorder, but hey:
I NEVER ever thought in my whole entire life I'd hear something like this!!!

Re: I Forgot To Remember To Forget You (LIVE) 1955
Never... Elvis' phrasing is completely different on that one - IF it's a fake (which I doubt) then it'd be a real good one.ColinB wrote:It's been suggested that it could be a fake.

Tried to improve the sound quality but made it worse so I gave up.
Hope Ernst has purchased the tape!
