Am going to download this and then compare it to my 12 year old recording as sometimes they play/ screen these movies here in AU a tad faster than normal, for some reason.
Must be related to PAL standard.
This is respected american reviewer Leonard Maltin's critique on ANATOMY OF A MURDER (1958). Hopefully someday it will be uploaded and when it does i'll be sure to add it here.
Now howsabout "Kiss of Death". Anyone here seen/enjoyed this one?
KISS OF DEATH - Film Noir Movie. It starred Victor Mature, Richard Widmark, Coleen Gray.
The legendary movie Spellbound is available on youtube but with a 4:12 overture that proceeds the film.
Why, I don't know why. Is this derived from Blu-ray?
The complete film does feature an overture, which highlights Miklós Rózsa’s brilliant score. This is included on the Blu-ray.
Thanks greystoke.
Can you tell me who would be a UK equivalent to movies critic/reviewer Leonard Maltin?
It would be a good thing to add their intro's and outro's in a context like this topic as it grows.
This is aussie movie critic John Hinde's intro's to the British film "Doctor in Distress". John had been a longtime presenter on a Friday night ABC television's Golden Years of Hollywood. He died in 2006. Nowadays we just don't have any TV network that plays these gems anymore as it's mostly sport that gets played. Even when they do , they're usually limited range.
Another one who was around even longer was Bill Collins. He has been a presenter , usually two films on a saturday night since the 1960's appeared on all the TV networks and finally on Fox classics pay TV. He passed away two years ago. His presentation and reviews was second to none.
Bill Collins Picture Show - Bullitt Intro (SAS-10, 25/8/1987)
Australia's Mr. Movies Bill Collins introduces his Golden Years of Hollywood weekly movie 'the Lady Vanishes' directed by Alfred Hitchcock, also advertises a competition to win Pretty Woman double passes.
i was hoping there was on youtube available of Audrey HEPBURN in australia being interviewed by Bill "Mr Movies" COLLINS either 1989 or 1990. It wasn't there
It was so cool as Audrey was here in her role for UNICEF but was reluctant to discuss her past Hollywood years , however Collins was able to secure such a interview where she agreed in part to discuss her famous movies. A one-hour tv special was made of it back then. Let's hope someone will put it up there and soon.
Pressure Point ... Sidney Poitier, Bobby Darin (1962)
An African-American prison psychiatrist finds the boundaries of his professionalism sorely tested when he must counsel a disturbed inmate with bigoted Nazi tendencies....
Walk on the Wild Side - Good to see this controversial 1962 Jane Fonda , Lawrence Harvey , Barbara Stanwyck film is available on youtube.
What a great movie, script and cast it was -
