Pre-fame Elvis?
Hello guys, haven't posted something in ages. I just came across this photo today while going through Pinterest. Not sure if it's been posted here before but I would love to know if it's real or not. If genuine, it definitely looks like it's pre-fame Elvis. Tell me what you guys think!

Re: Pre-fame Elvis?
Here's a side by side comparison. Obviously they do look quite similar but the expression isn't the same and his face is slightly off to the side. Isn't it possible that this is a different take of this photoshoot?
Also, why would an AI rendition make the picture granier and reduce it's quality?

Re: Pre-fame Elvis?
While that could be a possibilty, I don't see why anyone would do that. Take a look at the photos below. One of them is the one used for promotional purposes while the other one is an alternate version that is rarely seen. It is possible that this might be the same case.javierTCB wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 4:06 pmThey do this to make it more believableElvisAronPresley1935 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 1:52 pm... why would an AI rendition make the picture granier and reduce it's quality?

I understand your point of view. But I still think it is an AI creation. IMO

Re: Pre-fame Elvis?
I just want to say that it is possible that it could be a AI creation. However, there are certain differences. The nose doesn't match because the image on the left has been mirrored. With the image on the right, it's the left nostril that is slightly downwards. The ears, however, are quite similar. The sideburns are also not the same length. Maybe it's digging a bit too deep but the expressions eye-wise aren't exactly the same. In the image below, I've highlighted the slight differences in the angle of his face. The one on the right, you cannot see his right temple.

Bad example.
Both photos were published in the Memphis Press-Scimitar, the first in July 1954, the second as early as September 1954.
Both taken by staff photographer Jim Reid.
They each were used as part of a news story on Elvis, not "promotional purposes."
With AI becoming a fact of life in the 21st century, it is up to everyone who cares to be informed before making conclusions.

Understood. Why isn't the original version of that photo available?

Found a version that is less cropped and with contrast and lighting.
