Found them!
The photo's are from December 20, 1968 taken at the Graceland gates.
Photo's are taken by superfan Virginia Coons, and are included in a (rather new) fantastic book: And then there was Elvis ( A Memoir by Elaine Christan (daughter) with Viginia Coons.

Just read the post about the images from fan Virginia Coons on December 20th. He'd just gotten home from California that day.
Knew they were from Memphis in 1968, but I thought they were taken in the fall (September 25th to October 13th).
