If we are honest, our hero is not looking too well in these pics.

And this one, . . .
EP 76.png
Even resembles a stereotypical ETA performing at a high school gym.

(It is worth noting that EP had just let The Wests & Hebler go a couple of months earlier too. Is there a correlation ?)

76-10_FW.jpg

I feel that the hairstyle doesn't help his overall look too much. The fringe cut was last used for "Change of habit", when he was overall looking so much better and healthier and was in his prime. By late '76 with his puffy looking face and the accentuating from the sideburns this wasn't really working.

The picture was most likely taken in the later part of that evenings show, when he was performing "Funny how time slips away" which would explain why all the lights seem to be up.

I've corrected the picture quite abit to bring it back into proportions. I think that helps to give it an overall better look.

There are some decent fan shots in those two batches.

Elvis for the last time in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on October 25, 1976. He played the city once in 1957, and again in 1972.

He did a pretty long set (for him) that night:

Wonder what people felt ten months later?

Yes really. Both were posted and I’m having trouble determining which one is the correct one.

Paul, in a correct view the swirl design on the chest ended near EP’s left shoulder as seen above.

The second example is the correct view. Note the purple swirls go down the left side of his chest, as they do on the original suit.

The kid at the photo store back in 1976 just printed the negative the wrong way.

Had he been on his game, it would've looked like this:

Elvis had lost quite a bit of weight over the latter part of 1976, unfortunately he didn't look well in many of the photos of this time. There are photos of Elvis wearing the Chief Jumpsuit in November 1976 and probably close to the weight if not leaner than 1975, however he just looked ill from the mid point of 1976 onwards. You have to give Elvis some merit, his dependency was high and yet he still managed to push himself to get on stage. Lesser stars wouldn't have been able to do that. We might not like the outcome from 1976 onwards, but bloody hell, pushing past breaking point is no small feat.

If you are dependant and manage to lose weight, where is you cognitive mind set, you must be thinking you are cresting a wave and yet probably the worst photos of you are February 1977 just 3 months away! Elvis's life was a roller coaster in those last two years and the jumpsuits he wore in 1974 were fair game in 1976 and unflattering in 1977

November until December 1976 are the last great efforts in my opinion. What are your thoughts?

I certainly feel the 2nd Week of Elvis's Oct 76 tour he put out shows with more songs than the first week and thus better quality shows.Fort Wayne Was one of those better shows performance wise.
