Found on Pinterest, any idea of which recording session it is, with Steve Sholes, Parker and Gene Smith?

At first it looked like a 1960 photo to me, but he wore those shirts all the time, before and after Elvis went to Germany.,

I believe you are right. Steve Sholes wears the same shirt in other known september photographs.

Could be that session: Parker was wearing a striped shirt... Hard to make out on the picture but here is one with Parker and Sholes talking to Elvis during the session.

Now he has more information for the book he will publish with that photo. Don't expect any compensation or credit though.

Thank you guys. You nailed it.

Doc, thank for asking about the book. I'm thinking about Tom Parker Cookbook. His gigantic belly deserves one don't you think?

You will remember that you helped me when I began to write books about Elvis' career. I'm grateful that you did.

I am particularly grateful to drjohncarpentermd, a member of the “For Elvis CD Collectors Only” discussion forum (FECC), found at elvis-collectors.com. Check him on the site. He is a real detective as far as the details of Elvis’ career are concerned. His researches are fascinating and you will enjoy his sense of humor.

Isn't this credit?

I should have added that this is what I wrote in the acknowledgment section at the end of the books.

The photo was in Bill Blacks scrapbook when I visited and interviewed the Black family in 2006.
As others have said it is indeed the Sept '56 sessions.

Could that be Nick Adams sitting in the control room in the light shirt?

Yes, it is from the September 1-3, 1956 sessions at Radio Recorders. The photo, as posted by the OP, is cropped along the right side. You see the flash from the camera on the glass partition separating the recording studio from the control booth. There is another male in the control booth to the right of Steve Sholes. I believe this is Thorne Nogar.

SEPT '56 `Radio Recorders` Control room

Uncropped image, Thorne Nogar standing to our right in the control room behind glass, possibly Nick Adams seated in light shirt to the left also in the control room. Front row outside control room, left to right appears to be - Trude Forsher(possibly), Gene Smith, Col Parker and Steve Sholes.

It's from Day 1 of the 1956 sessions at Radio Recorders, September 1st. Nick Adams was not present.
