In this one, it appears we have a previously-unknown shot from one of the March 1956 Dorsey rehearsals.
And it is curious to discover Nick Adams claim he accepted an opening slot offer from Elvis on the Presley show doing impressions of Hollywood stars. Adams was definitely around on the October 1956 tour, but is it known that he was one of the acts that preceded Presley? Nick's additional comment that Elvis came out and introduced him is almost certainly false.
Thank you, as always, The fool.

I know there are always a lot of people reading these magazines I post. Some of them thank me from time to time. Some of them here on this forum, some of them privately. I do appreciate that. And that is enough for me. To me, it´s important to share these articles/information and photos in these old magazines, because they are very fascinating. And we can always learn something new from them. But you, Dr. John Carpenter, M.D., are the only one who remembers to thank me every time.drjohncarpenter wrote:

You make this forum a real place of value for the crazy-but-serious Elvis fan (like me), and you have helped us to learn that much more about this amazing, unique singer who changed the world.
I hope you remain a member of FECC for many years to come!

Oh -- and does anyone know if Nick Adams took an opening slot on the Presley show, doing impressions of Hollywood stars? It would have been on the October 1956 tour.

Thank you very much for this magazine, you know how i love these old magazines...
I don't know if Nick was one of the openings acts from October tour, but his book (The Rebel and the King) is waiting for me at the postal office, tomorrow i will have in my hands. If i'll find some new informations i'll be happy to share.
I know for sure he was one of the opening acts in Tupelo, September 26.
PS: wonderful photo from Dorsey, totally new to me
(is too much to bother you for a bigger version, please? You know what i need it for...)

Re: Hollywood´s Mixed-Up Blabber-Mouths (by Nick Adams)
Adams helped open the afternoon (and probably evening) shows in Tupelo -- cool. Maybe that was the only time, and Nick was "enhancing" his story a tad. But there is no way Elvis introduced him and walked off. The crowd would have gone bananas.
