A photo from the actual 'Blue Hawaii' recording sessions, after some research (which I have previously posted in the picture section)

Originally found on Bob Moore's son's website and captioned as '1962', I have since taken the time to look at the photo a bit closer,to see if a date could be found. The location is Radio Recorders,Hollywood,so therefore I have listed below the possible dates, with this studio being used. The Bob Moore connection would then bring the dates down to either 'Blue Hawaii' or 'Kid Galahad' sessions. Elvis would wear the white and blue yachting cap between (aprox) 1960 through 1961,where as far as I can see,he used the blue cap from 'Kid Galahad' onwards.

Finally the two musician's seen in the photo are Fred Tavares(left) and Bernie Lewis (right) who only played on the 'Blue Hawaii' sessions.

The remark from Don Robertson " By 1961,Elvis had already recorded several of my songs, and someone sent word to me that he wanted to meet me.He was working on a project at Radio Recorders on Santa Monica Bouvlevard in L.A. and I went over to the studio.I was there for the last hour,I think they were almost through, He was standing there in his little captain's hat at the microphone"(at the start of take 15 of 'Slicin' Sand' Disc 2 FTD Blue Hawaii, recorded on March 21st 1961) With this information, I would suggest that the photo is from the 'Blue Hawaii' recording sessions on either
March 21,22,23 1961,Radio Recorders,Hollywood.

Radio Recorders , so the possible dates are :

May 6 1960 - 'G.I. Blues'

August 8 1960 - 'Flaming Star'
August 11 1960
October 7 1960

November 7 1960 - 'Wild In The Country'
November 8 1960

March 21 1961 - 'Blue Hawaii' (Bob Moore)(white Cap seen on location, and seen in the movie)
March 22 1961
March 23 1961

October 26 1961 - 'Kid Galahad' (Bob Moore)(Blue Cap seen on location for the movie)
October 27 1961

March 26 1962 - 'Girls!Girls!Girls! (Blue Cap seen on location, and in the movie)
March 27 1962
March 28 1962
May 2 1962
May 23 1962
August 6 1962

August 30 1962 - 'It Happened At The Worlds Fair'(Blue Cap seen on location in the movie)
September 22 1962

with thanks Davide

Thanks Davide for the presentation. I love it. It a way to honoring the musicians of the past that contributed to make this marvelous music to wich add his rich voice. Most of them are gone now but they are being remembered here. A nice gesture from your part.

Thanks David... fantastic and extremely informative post... your one of the people that make this site the number one Elvis forum on the net.
One note about Freddie Tavares... the date you posted... 1953-1985... was actually Freddie's time as a designer for Fender... I believe his birth-death dates were 1913 to 1990. Not sure if that was your original intent... just wanted to clarify.
Thanks again for all the work you put into this!!!

Great stuff Davide!
Strange that we're talking about the same guy who has got so much slander for his "movie years"?
