Saw Ricky in 84 in NJ and this is almost the same show he gave that night. What a concept, an artist doing mostly all his classics with only a few covers (of great songs). It was a great rockin show, the audience was on its feet.

Was he doing "You Know What I Mean" in 1984 when you saw him ?

Also, 4 minute version on "That's alright Mama" seems odd. Don't recall studio version being anywhere near as long as that one, do you?

Yes he did You Know What I Mean at the show, great throw back rockabilly tune which was released as a single here in the US, but did nothing chart wise. He did Thats All Right with an introduction about his friend Elvis. What impressed me most was when he went to the piano and did Honky Tonk Women. Did not realize he even played it. One of the best concerts I have ever seen.

This simply the umpteenth reissue of material originally recorded at the Universal Ampitheater in Los Angeles, August 1985, and Chicago, 1983. The original release was on Rhino in 1989.

Never understood why they did not release Chicago '83 and Los Angeles Amphitheatre '85 separately on cd especially when both were available in full on video officially.

Still hoping to someday get all the songs Rick recorded for his Curb album in 1985 that never came out.
