This here is Someone's Got A Hold Of My Heart from 1983 back when Bob was waxing songs for the Infidels album.

The song would later surface on The Bootleg Series Volumes 1–3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961–1990.

Two years on Dylan would re-work the song as 'Tight Connection to my Heart'. and put together this video included on his album Empire Burlesque -

But i dig the first song 8)

Dylan fan and archivist Swingin' Pig has just uploaded this fascinating 12 minute recording.

The Bucklen Tapes: The Earliest-Known Recording of Bob Dylan (Spring, 1958)
-

Interesting references on mainstream white artists like Elvis copying black artists and in turn Ricky Nelson copys Elvis conversation by Bobby and John Bucklen

PLEASE READ INFO & TRACKLIST BELOW:
The first five minutes of this video is the earliest-known tape of Bob Dylan, recorded when Bob was around sixteen. Not the greatest sound quality, lyrics, or singing, but everyone has to start somewhere and this is still a fantastic look into Dylan's early roots. The tape was recorded in the garage of Bobby Zimmerman's home (his original surname) by his friend and peer, John Bucklen, who can be heard singing with Bob. The Zimmerman residence was 2425 7th Ave. E., Hibbing, MN., now a pilgrimage destination for some fans. The tape, referred to by enthusiasts as the Bucklen Tape, is the earliest circulating recording of Bob. The only original piece on the tape is "Hey, Little Richard," making that Bob's first recorded original song.

The rest of this video is a recording is a tape of Bucklen recollecting on his high school years when he and Dylan spent much of their time together. This recording was taken from the documentary film Highway 61 Revisited.

Fake news but various news sources reported this, not only Australia.

Australian TV network apologises after accidentally announcing Bob Dylan’s death

Australian TV show Today has apologised after mistakenly saying that Bob Dylan had died.

The breakfast show was airing a segment over the weekend about the songwriter’s documents being auctioned off in Boston for $495,000 (£373k).

However, an on-screen banner read “Late singer’s documents sell for $495 thousand,” which lead to host Richard Wilkins apologising the viewers.

“We need to make a correction now,” he said after the broadcast. “About half an hour ago on our entertainment chat, we incorrectly ran a banner on your screen about Bob Dylan. It was false and we apologise for any confusion.”

Among the documents sold at the auction were unpublished lyrics written by Dylan, as well as letters between him and late American blues musician Tony Glover and transcripts of interviews between the two.

The collection previously belonged to Glover, with the majority of the separate lots bought by an unnamed bidder.

Within the interviews transcribed in the papers, which happened in 1971, Dylan speaks about how antisemitism influenced his decision to change his name from Robert Zimmerman, the star saying: “A lot of people are under the impression that Jews are money lenders and merchants.”

It is also revealed that his 1969 song ‘Lay Lady Lay’ was originally written for Barbra Streisand, and some of the lyrics included lines Dylan wrote after visiting Woody Guthrie.

Bob Dylan celebrates all of the years presidents on his radio show 'Theme Time Radio Hour' (Episode 68) and reminds listeners to vote.

BobQuote 01:56:56 : “I wanna remind you, while we’re talking about all things presidential, that this is election year. Get out and vote. Go make a difference before they change the rules and just appoint the president for us. It’s getting pretty close".

Bob Dylan Just Released the Ultra-Rare 1970 ‘George Harrison Sessions’ Without Warning

The Bob Dylan – 50th Anniversary Collection 1970 was released as a super-limited set to avoid the recordings entering the public domain in Europe

A tiny number of Bob Dylan fans scored a valuable collectible on Sunday when a three-disc collection of songs cut in 1970, including the legendary George Harrison sessions, was quietly put on sale via the U.K. store Badlands.

“This release is strictly limited to 1 unit per customer,” the store wrote when announcing Bob Dylan – 50th Anniversary Collection 1970. “Extremely limited release. It will sell out instantly … Thank you and best of luck.”

This collection was released in response to a European law stipulating that recordings enter the public domain 50 years after their creation if they aren’t officially released by the copyright holder. To avoid legal Bob Dylan bootlegs from flooding the market, his camp has released yearly copyright protection releases going back to 2012 when the complete 1962 recordings came out.

Many of them contain take after take of the same song and would be of interest to nobody but the most devoted Dylan scholars, but they’re become extremely valuable due to their scarcity. They often sell on the resale market for upwards of $1,000 each.

This new one likely has a broader appeal than previous ones since it features Dylan and George Harrison’s complete May 1st, 1970 session where they casually jam on Dylan oldies like “One Too Many Mornings” and “It Ain’t Me Babe” along with the Beatles’ “Yesterday” and numerous tunes from the then-in-progress New Morning. It has circulated as a bootleg for years, but the sound quality on this is presumably a significant upgrade from anything heard before.

It is rounded out by other recordings from the New Morning sessions where Dylan is joined by session pros like organist Al Kooper, bassist Charlie Daniels, drummer Russ Kunkel, guitarist David Bromberg, bassist Stu Woods and drummer Alvin Rogers.

The collection sold out in seconds, but will likely be available soon to enterprising fans familiar with the world of BitTorrent. And stay vigilant in late 2021 when the complete sessions for Greatest Hits Volume 2 are likely to hit without notice. (Things will get real interesting in 2024 when they’ll have to release every recording in the vault from Dylan’s Before The Flood tour with the Band.)

Much better sound and restoration here. I (for one) prefer this live version.

I have used the sound from the Hard Rain remastered cd. I had never realised that Hard Rain album version of Idiot Wind was from this concert. I thought Bob's voice sounded different. On trying to put the sound over this video (The audio originally is from the VHS recording of this that was broadcast as Hard Rain TV Special) I realised why.. The Hard Rain album version is slightly quicker. Eventually I got the audio to line up with the video by decreasing the speed of the audio (from the CD), so that it was about 1.7 seconds longer in total (over the ten minutes).. On slightly slowing the audio, the pitch changes.. and it sounds more like the original audio from the VHS recording of this video. If that makes sense.. Maybe this has been realised by others previously, but this was new to me. So it seems the video and audio is the actual speed.. the Idiot Wind on the Hard Rain audio CD has been slightly sped up, meaning it is about 1.7 seconds shorter, which slightly changed the pitch. I recall a similar story regarding Blood on the Tracks.. that was recorded the year prior to this. I think the tracks (or some of them), were slightly sped up, and the pitch slightly changed. I have also edited the video picture a bit.

Good write-up wikipedia here on Bobster's radio theme hour program:

Theme Time Radio Hour (TTRH) was a weekly, one-hour satellite radio show hosted by Bob Dylan that originally aired from May 2006 to April 2009. Each episode was an eclectic, freeform mix of blues, folk, rockabilly, R&B, soul, bebop, rock-and-roll, country and pop music, centered on a theme such as "Weather," "Money" or "Flowers" with songs from artists as diverse as Patti Page and LL Cool J. Much of the material for the show's 100 episodes was culled from producer Eddie Gorodetsky's music collection, which reportedly includes more than 10,000 records and more than 140,000 digital files.[1]

Interspersed between the music segments were email readings, listener phone calls, vintage radio air checks, old radio promos and jingles, even older jokes from Dylan ("My grandmother is so tidy she puts newspaper under the cuckoo clock"), poetry recitations; taped messages from a variety of celebrities, musicians and comedians; and commentary from Dylan on the music and musicians as well as miscellanea related to the themes. The show was not live (Dylan taped his portions at various locations and while touring), and the studio location at the so-called "Abernathy Building" was fictitious. Most of the "listener phone calls" and emails were also fictitious, although at least one email read on the show came from an actual listener.[2]

Original broadcast history

The first episode of TTRH was broadcast on May 3, 2006 on the Deep Tracks channel of XM Satellite Radio, a subscription-based satellite radio service, now called Sirius XM Radio after its purchase and merger with competitor Sirius Satellite Radio. TTRH was originally broadcast every Wednesday at 10:00 am ET on Deep Tracks, with several "encore" repeats throughout the week on various channels, including an all-day airing on what was XMX Channel 2.

On November 12, 2008, Sirius XM revised its channel lineup, providing Sirius and XM listeners with access to programming on both networks. As of that date, TTRH began airing every Wednesday at 11 am ET on Deep Tracks – Channel 40 on XM and Channel 16 on Sirius. Several channels on both stations were discontinued in November 2008, including XMX Channel 2, which had aired TTRH all day on Wednesdays.

The show was simulcast on DirecTV until February 9, 2010.[3]

From 2006 through 2008 AOL Radio offered the show on "AOL Radio featuring XM," a selection of 200 XM radio stations that was available to those with an AOL login and a broadband internet connection. In March 2008, XM Radio and America Online announced that they were ending that relationship "by mutual agreement" and at the end of April, 2008 the XM Radio channels were no longer available on AOL Radio.[4]

From 2007–9 the program aired in the United Kingdom on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music, and in Ireland on Dublin-based alternative rock station Phantom FM.

Season 3 of TTRH concluded with the show's 100th original episode on April 15, 2009. The theme of that show was "Goodbye."[5] During an April 2009 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Dylan implied that his contract with Sirius XM had ended, and that he had no plans to do additional episodes of TTRH.

In September 2020, SiriusXM announced that a 101st episode of the Theme Time Radio Hour would be produced and aired as part of a marathon rerunning of the whole series. The new episode, with a whiskey theme, is being produced as a tie-in to Dylan's Heaven's Door Spirits.[6]

The "Kiss" episode, 2015

In early February 2015, Berlin radio station Radio Eins made a surprise announcement [9] that it would broadcast a heretofore unknown episode of Theme Time Radio Hour, titled "Kiss," as a special episode of the station's Friendly Takeover series. The Radio Eins "Kiss" episode was broadcast on February 11, 2015 and later by SiriusXM and the BBC. Due to time constraints, both the Radio Eins and BBC versions of the "Kiss" episode were edited by the respective stations, and neither broadcast the complete hour-long show.[10]

Show track listings:[11]

"The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" - Betty Everett (1964)
"Always Late with Your Kisses" - Lefty Frizzell (1951)
"Passionate Kisses" - Lucinda Williams (1988)
"Kissing At Midnight" - Billy Boy Arnold (1957)
"Kiss" - Prince (1986)
"Kissing in the Dark" - Memphis Minnie (1953)
"Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye" - Danny White (1963)
"Pucker Paint" - Huelyn Duvall (1960)
"Lipstick on Your Collar" - Connie Francis (1959)
"(Till) I Kissed You" - The Everly Brothers (1959)
"Let’s Kiss and Make Up" - The Falcons (1963)
"Baby, Let Me Kiss You One More Time" - Roy Head and The Traits (1958)
"Last Kiss" - J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers (1964)
"A Kiss to Build a Dream On" - Louis Armstrong (1951)

Whiskey episode, September 21, 2020

Dylan resurrected his Theme Time Radio Hour format when he broadcast a two-hour special on the theme of "Whiskey" on Sirius Radio on September 21, 2020.[12]
