I could do that, of course. But the CD is no longer on the market and only
available second-hand. Therefore, Sony would not make a profit on my purchase.
Besides, I don't need a physical product and would then have to buy the CD for
5 Euros plus postage and packaging, copy it as mp3 and sell it again.

So, what makes more sense?

That you would pay for the physical product whether new or used so as not to possess something illegal and infringe on lawful copyrights.
