Where does the title of the move 'That's The Way It Is' come from? It's not a song title or a quote from the film?

I think it's just a good title that sums everything up - he's Elvis, he's great and that's the way it is!

I always thought it was a riff on Walter Cronkite's famous sign off, "and that's the way it is."

We've discussed this before.

As noted by Hobbes, legendary CBS-TV newscaster Walter Cronkite, "the most trusted man in America," used to sign off his nightly newscast with (example):

"And that's the way it is, for Monday, August 10, 1970."


I'll wager it was director Denis Sanders who chose to "borrow" Walter's line as:

"Elvis, That's The Way It Is."
