Where does TTWIS come from?
Where does the title of the move 'That's The Way It Is' come from? It's not a song title or a quote from the film?

I think it's just a good title that sums everything up - he's Elvis, he's great and that's the way it is!

You may want to correct part of the title of this thread to "TTWII."harris497 on Fri Jan 26, 2018 7:02 pm wrote:Where does the title of the move 'That's The Way It Is' come from? It's not a song title or a quote from the film?
The United States of America have had

Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.
You're a beautiful audience.

I always thought it was a riff on Walter Cronkite's famous sign off, "and that's the way it is."

We've discussed this before.harris497 on Fri Jan 26, 2018 4:02 pm wrote:Where does the title of the move 'That's The Way It Is' come from? It's not a song title or a quote from the film?
As noted by Hobbes, legendary CBS-TV newscaster Walter Cronkite, "the most trusted man in America," used to sign off his nightly newscast with (example):
"And that's the way it is, for Monday, August 10, 1970."
I'll wager it was director Denis Sanders who chose to "borrow" Walter's line as:
"Elvis, That's The Way It Is."
See:
How 'That's the way it is' became Cronkite's tag line
