Though their love was very strong, I don't think their relationship would have lasted. Both were addicts, Elvis to prescribed drugs and A.M. to the effects of methanol. If A.M. had stayed with Elvis, if and how would Elvis have taken responsibility to support her through some very though times. Would he be capable to do it ? I am sure he would think he could, but the sad evidence is that he never took responsibility for his own life.

Maybe if they truly loved each other and were together they would have not needed artificial substances.

Funny how this thread about David Bendeth and remixing has morphed into being about Elvis' love life.

I have a question, guys:

I bought the DVD audio of E1 because I was curious about the uncompressed Bendeth-mixes.

I listened to it yesterday using my DVD player which is connected to a standard stereo-amplifier.

Do I listen the whole mix this way (stereo downmix) or not?

I ask because my DVD player starts playing the disc automatically but all the tracks sound pretty strange, especially Way Down. The overdubs are hardly audible. "The Wonder Of You" is extremely low ... I wonder whether this is the mix by Bendeth or whether I have not the right euqipment.

They didn't do a menu on the disc. That makes things a bit difficult.
You are listening to the 5.1 tracks I'd say and you need different equiptment for that.
And I'm not sure if the stereo tracks will play on your set up either.
I think a normal DVD player will only play the Dolby tracks. You need DVD Audio player to get the stereo tracks I think.

I'm not certain but that's what I think.

Yes I was an "outsider" and came well after the fact of the original greatness.

Now just think that this album "Elvis-30 #1's" could have sold many more Millions had RCA not released literally dozens of other compilations with the same songs on it.
