The 2010’s saw Sony embark on a project with The Royal Philharmonic orchestra submitting new backing tracks to some of Elvis’ back catalogue, including some classic recordings. Understandably, Elvis’ standing and legacy in musical history saw this concept poorly received and largely vilified within Elvis large fan base. The basic opinion being that Elvis’ legacy can stand on it’s own without need for gimmicks or re-recordings, and this remains true.
Posthumously constructed duets are not a new concept and sometimes they can contemporise an older recording bringing it to a new audience. This can only work, in the main, if both the original track is used and that it is true to the spirit of the original. As part of the RPO project, a duet was constructed by adding the vocal of German singer Helene Fischer to fans favourite, Just Pretend. However, in keeping with the project in general, both vocals were drowned out by the vastly overblown orchestration. This is a pity as Fischers vocal is quite sublime, emotional and compliments Elvis’ stunning vocal excellently.
It is a pity that Elvis’ original 1970 recording had not been utilised as it could have been something very special and perhaps given Elvis yet another posthumous hit single. In this video, the vocal has been set to Elvis’ 1970 original Nashville recording resulting in something quite spectacular without diminishing Elvis’ sublime original!

Greetings from AU.
Mate, are you able to clean up Elvis vocals on "Twelvth of Never" the one with David Briggs playing piano in the background that surfaced in 1995 so as Elvis voice sounds upfront and more studio quality? Worth a try.
