I ask because we have had false death announcement in the past on FECC.

Larry Geller confirmed Sonny's death on Facebook: "Sad to learn of Sonny West's passing today. Another loss to the Elvis world. My heartfelt sympathy to Judy and the rest of his family."

Jennie Carpenter, who saw Elvis eight times between 1974 and 1976 in Alabama and is also president of the "For the Heart" Elvis Presley fan club based out of Huntsville, Alabama, posted the following in the previously mentioned fan club's Facebook group: "Before I posted, I wanted to absolutely verify. It is, indeed, true - just received a call from a friend who is there with Judy [Sonny's wife has been battling breast cancer for several years now]. Out of respect, please do not contact the family or their friends - Judy needs some time to focus. Please remember them in your prayers..."

Carpenter did not write the following blurb but shared it along with the above...I am unsure who wrote it.....
