the "wide stereo" version of greensboro 1972.....seems a lot of controversy over it...it advertises itself as using direct rca tapes, which seems to have raised a few eyebrows.
either way....sounds fantastic to me.

Just listened to CD #2 of the FTD "Nevada Nights" release. This featured the August 21, 1974 midnight show. A terrific performance by Elvis. He is in good voice and really entertains the crowd that night. The show is in good sound as well. Some highlights for me include: If You Love Me, It's Midnight, Big Boss Man, I'm Leavin', You Gave Me a Mountain, Polk Salad Annie, If You Talk in Your Sleep, and Let Me Be There. A terrific show and glad to have this release.

Still waiting for the latest from SA and EP Collectors to drop in my mailbox... Grrrrr After a post on another thread, I decided to pull out the first show I ever saw in person - March 21, 1976 - the evening show. Maybe it's just because I was there that night, but I always find this show an enjoyable listen. The new band members do give this one a new feel. I hope that in the not too distant future FTD examines what they have in regards to the March / April '76 tour. Honestly, the tow shows in Cincy (if both recorded..?) would make a fine release as the sound on the evening show is very good indeed.

I just never could get used to the sound on that CD and still prefer this one.

Gentlemen-
I have to wholeheartedly agree that the "Holding" CD is the preferred listen. In fact, it was that Diamond release that I listened to. I was just too lazyt to scan the cover to upload - I just did a quick search on line for the Madison cover to include in the post. Sorry, to have mislead anyone... I'll spend an extra hour in my room tonight, Rob. Is it OK if I eat supper first ?

I don't post here a whole lot, I mostly just read and learn more about different topics; I suppose it stems from my struggles with social anxiety, even though this is a forum on the internet, and not something we discuss in person. All of that being said though, Rob, your comments never fail to make me smile or laugh, you're freaking hilarious, and I absolutely love it!! Especially at times like the present, as I'm dealing with both inner and outer ear infections in my left ear, and am at the beginning of an infection in my right ear. Thus, it's a lot of pain/discomfort/frustration. But when I come on here and read about different concerts, see new photos, or even just reading other people's questions (which oftentimes are the same exact questions I have, but am just too scared/nervous to ask for whatever stupid reason, thanks anxiety lol), and your guy's responses to them and to each other, it all just takes my mind off of things and always seems to make me smile, about one thing or another. Sorry for rambling on and on lol, just wanted to say that I sincerely appreciate all of you guys!! :) ::rocks

We're glad you're here. As for me, I'm serious 99% of the time, but people laugh anyway.

I've never understood it.

Showroom International Feb. 23 1971 Dinner Show.

Brilliant Show with plenty of gutsy singing and a very majestic, " The Impossible Dream ".

Isn't that the February 23rd Closing Show? The tape runs out in the middle of Suspicious Minds.

Correct. Suspicious Minds on that release is spliced with the January 28th, 1971 midnight show and from that same show is the version of 'The Impossible Dream' too.

However, on the 4cd box 'That's The Wonder, The Wonder Of You' and the 2014 Gravel Road release 'Let It Rock' the tape ends after 'Hound Dog' with the complete 'Suspicious Minds' and 'The Impossible Dream' from the aforementioned January 28th, 1971 midnight show. On these releases this is then followed by an audience recording of the end of the February 23rd, 1971 closing show adding the songs missing on the soundboard:

- Suspicious Minds
- Band Introductions
- Help Me Make It Trough The Night
- The Impossible Dream

Rob's 9-year old baby (topic :D ) always great to come back to and recall.

As for my latest concert, it is the Alternate Aloha 1-12-1973 concert but only the one that came out on lightyear entertainment home-video 22 years ago. After i got my copy as an import i had taken the ntsc product to some specialist dealer that makes wedding vid's (he had various converters equipment) to have it converted to Pal VHS, and in 1999, i made myself an audio copy of it but it was mono. Still kept the CDR of it after 21 years, i can't believe it

Always difficult to tell with audience recordings, except for when they are truly outstanding. So, no beter judgement than your own. Here's 'Help Me Make It Trough The Night' from the 'Let It Rock' bootleg:

On Stage Season CD 2.

Oh Man what a great selection of standout performances and passionate singing with gravel in his voice, there are no weak performances on this album, if only they filmed some of these shows, Elvis looked and sounded magnificent and hadn't yet become the polished showman that would appear the following season.

I revisited the St. Paul show from October 2, 1974 this weekend. During those fall shows, one never knew what would come out of Elvis' mouth next. On this night, it was Kathy's turn to get embarrassed.

Some good performances, but man...he talked way too much.

Rob, it's the 3rd of October, FTD dated it incorrectly as the 2nd.

I also listened to this and the first 1975 Atlanta show (May 30). Both fun in their own ways.
