I saw Elvis live in concert the year before he died. Even then, he was bigger than life, and had amazing charisma. Haven't seen anything like it since, ....until Adam.........Nocturnal 2010

December 1975 - a very good Vegas Season.

Bound to be audience, and Cisco is bound to know how the sound is on the existing source (CDr?)

Sounds not bad -- it's on one of the Concert Years series, if the sounds improved, it's a keeper. You want a sample??? of the old one I mean

If you could post My Boy say, that would be a good indicator.

I am only presuming that they have just copied a CDr - even worse if they have copied an MP3 CDr

The sound is o.k. there so far... and if they didn`t just a copy and paste job ..but worked a bit on the sound to enhance it and made some efforts in cover design and added a booklet with fine liner notes and fine research...there is nothing against this release.....cause the show is really a good one...

Thanks to Ernst Joergensen, Roger Semon and Erik Rasmussen for the great work. Keep the spirit alive !

I have to admit, "My Boy" is substandard, I don't care how many times Elvis sang it.

Hell, the Richard Harris original is painful enough -->

..

Notice how Elvis' arrangement simply copies Harris's recording?

It's an example of how little creative thought went into Presley's effort.

Thanks for the samples!
Well,the sound is terrible imo.
I've just bought "Countdown To Christmas",so that's enough for me from this season,as far as audience recordings go.

That'll be because they are from the old Concert Years version

We'll soon see if it's a straight copy or not -- hopefully we may get a suprise.

The purpose is to show that A Dinner Date In Bright Light City holds little appeal to some. No reason why one can't state their feeling on an upcoming release is there?

Don't fool yourself Mr. G, it is substandard at best. A real tragedy that Elvis subjected his talent to lackluster material like this.

No reason why one cannot do this. But......

Your post does not fufil that purpose. They are clearly intended to cause trouble on the Board. Trollish.

Try some honsety, instead of repetitively themed, too thick, sarcasm.

Where do you get off telling me not to fool myself. Surely that is a personal freedom?

But seriously, it is a beautiful song, performed to perfection in the studio, and in many live versions.

It is not to your taste, and Elvis of 1973-77 was not the Elvis you wanted him to be. Get over it.

Many fans' taste is different from yours and John's, favouring ballads and other melodramatic songs. That does not make them wrong, stupid or fools. That's musical taste.

Sorry that Elvis turned into something you despise. Why don't you concentrate your postings more on the Elvis you do appreciate, and on your big strength - Off Topic.

The way things are, you just come across as a sour, bitter man who wants to spoil other people's enjoyment, and who seems to have nothing better to do than that!
