I have always had a special likeing for this one in my collection as it comes from a time before Heartbreak Hotel had made any chart impact in the UK ,and the fact that the actual artist / song details are written in pen !!

I'm afraid to say it, but I have some 10" records that are a lot uglier.
But I've also got some good news for you.
Memphis Flash got me into collecting EPs.
Maybe you can write something about collecting EPs in this thread?
I'll upload the pictures for you.

Hey, don't blame me on your 'new' collecting habit ! You just need an alibi for your wife, admit it !
(But those EP Are nice, that's a fact !) BTW Kempo, ever heard of 'Jack Kirby' ? He's also named 'King', wait till friday - then you have a brand new hobby ...

Re: Do you have a rare Elvis record? Show it to us, please!
thanks a lot kempo. really strange these 10inches records. they look "ugly" in a way, but I like that handmade style (in fact, im a graphic designer and would never produce designs like this
). I do have the "No. 2" 10inch on fake sun label. It's an acetate. are the others acetates too? have you ever seen the 10inchs mentioned in the jailhouse rock book, named "elvis, a way of life vol.1" and "elvis" on neuphone label?

Purchased this set complete with the 3 cue sheets, one for each LP, in 1977/1978.
(See trade center for list of rare and some not so rare Elvis LP's and 78 rpm's for exchange or for sale)

Man that 10 inch Live on Stage at the Hilton is rare because the 12 inch didn't use the oriignal master. I wish I had that one.

To Mike Eder
Well at the end of the Eighties I was visiting an Elvis collector in the outskirts of New York. He had that 10" Live At The Hilton alblum for sale. He wanted, if I do remember correctly some US$ 1.200 at that time. Pretty much for a young person like me. I could not afford it at that time. Shame on me!
I did not even ask this collector to play this record for me. I was too stunned and too shocked, when I, after knowing of it's existence for years, finally held it in my hands. The cover was just that picture of Elvis at the Hilton in 1972, laminated in heavy clear plastic. The record itself seemed to me like a wax acetate. The whole production must be so extremly rare that I do guess only a couple of handful of these alblums were ever manufactured.
By way, there is another incredible rare 10" record - KING CREOLE - the one with the blue cover. Supposedly it comes from the same person(s) who did the Hilton 10".

I wonder what it sounded like? I wouldn't pay that much either. Maybe $100 at the very most.T-R-O-U-B-L-E wrote:To Mike Eder
