Nothing different as to the cd's that came with the book, I think? First takes 'Can't Help Falling In Love' still taken from vinyl source instead of tape?

Cover is beautiful though! Would look great as an vinyl album cover.

Do we know why Steppin’ Out Of Line has Elvis' vocals on overload?

Read the "Footnote" and the tracklisting... that should answer your 2 questions...

Who said that the source of the first takes was vinyl?

Yes, I've heard. Several times. I even have the box/book.
In my opinion, the audio was extracted from tape. I didn't hear any vinyl noise. However, whether they used mono matrices and turned them into stereo is another matter.

If it’s identical to the book set then it’ll be the first pass for me in a while, the audio on the book set was heavily edited down and mastered way too loud.

Thank you Ernst and Roger!

Blue Hawaii is a groaner of a movie but the music is rightfully lauded as some of the best movie music he ever did.

I will be passing on this as I'm already quite pleased with my older FTD BH release - but I'm very, very pleased for those that were hoping to get their hands on the sessions without paying for the books.

I didn’t buy the book and I was waiting for the audio release only. I’m glad that FTD informed us that there was going to be one. I’m probably the only one, but I would like them to re-release The Viva Las Vegas Sessions in chronological order and add the mono recordings, i own the Sessions release, but didn’t buy The Making of Viva Las Vegas book. I would definitely buy it again.

I have to disagree with that statement, if you were applying this to the movies from 65 onwards I could understand. There is a reason that this film fared well with the general public, top 10 grossing movie of 1961 & 14th grossing of 1962, that's quite impressive by any standard. Blue Hawaii offers some of the best comedic acting seen in any Elvis film. Angela Lansbury is superb as Elvis' mother and the interaction between her and her husband, Roland Winters & Elvis is in my opinion as good as anything from a romcom of that era. Back to the music, I have the book and both book and the audio are fantastic but everyone to their own I guess.

This looks to be a very well presented package and I've always really liked the original album, Elvis sounds amazing throughout. Just curious, do you think we will be getting any concert soundboards released by FTD alongside this release?

I don't think so. If that was the case it would have been announced alongside this release
