I listened to the samples and they are perfection. I don't have a turntable so the record will just be a collectable. Yes, it is too expensive, but I love that soundtrack and have preordered it to get the CD.

This is a stunning release, listened to it with headphones, it's incredible what they can do.frus75 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 12:46 amIncredible sounding samples from follow that dream… just follow the link on Elvis infonet

It sounds like a true stereo release!
Also, their "Welcome home release" is hard to beat soundwise.
No agendas here, these are just both the best sounding versions of this material.

I've only got the Follow That Dream EP and it really is fabulous. It's also on the 4 CD MRS release The Complete Movie Masters 1960-62. This is also a great release although there is an error on there.JohanD wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 8:12 pmThis is a stunning release, listened to it with headphones, it's incredible what they can do.frus75 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 12:46 amIncredible sounding samples from follow that dream… just follow the link on Elvis infonet

Have we not got Follow That Dream in stereo now? There would be no need to turn mono into stereo?

The MRS release is a mono to stereo job, it's doesn't feature the true stereo masters.LesterB wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 10:34 pm????JohanD wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 8:12 pmThis is a stunning release, listened to it with headphones, it's incredible what they can do.frus75 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 12:46 amIncredible sounding samples from follow that dream… just follow the link on Elvis infonet

You're missing what the shady grey market label is missing: the true stereo masters.
It's all amateur computer software fiddle-faddle with SONY-RCA-FTD purloined audio.
Yours for a dream . . .

Re: Elvis Presley At 3AM - Lake Tahoe 1973 (Memphis Recording Service)
I rip all my CDs and normally play outtakes. It seems that I have a false memory of having the stereo masters !

None of the masters apart from Angel, are available in stereo.
MRS have done a terrific professional job on these.

I've been enjoying the MRS Follow That Dream EP. They did an excellent job.

It's fantastic, isn't it? You wouldn't know that these were not true stereo recordings. This is not an amateur job, and no one should claim that it is.RickGreekElvis wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 3:31 amI've been enjoying the MRS Follow That Dream EP. They did an excellent job.

Re: Elvis Presley At 3AM - Lake Tahoe 1973 (Memphis Recording Service)
Yes, the shady grey market label hired only the best engineers from SONY-RCA, accessed the original master and outtake sources, and did their magic at the usual professional confines of Battery Studios in New York.

Yup, and ignore anyone who maligns MRS and continues to put them down. It's their loss.L Ray wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 9:32 pmYes, they do sound fabulous.Lee Wood wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 9:24 pmIt's fantastic, isn't it? Re: Elvis Presley At 3AM - Lake Tahoe 1973 (Memphis Recording Service)
We've had original stereo masters that were totally killed by false mixing. Even during Elvis' lifetime. Why not listen to some stereo that the PC or KI re-created if it sounds great? Genuine stereo is not a guarantee for great sound. Let everybodies ears decide.

Other legendary acts have fans who do their own amateur creations via computer software. But the difference is they don't package and sell it as if it's some kind of professional audio that exceeds the original sources. They just share it via online streaming.
So odd that some will interpret this as a "put down" of a shady grey market label. It's just the truth.

Looks like one of the most vociferous apologists of the shady grey market label is feeling triggered.
The truth hurts.

The rest of us can enjoy the fabulous work being done by MRS and Memphis Mansion, and now RDM. It won't be too long before Sony join the party.
Have you heard the news, there's good rockin' tonight, in stereo, and there's so much more to come. Bring it on.
