The author of the book has said that the CDs contain 40 tracks compiled by Ernst and are a free bonus so the price is not affected whether they include the CDs or not.

The book seems to me like it might be one of those “I’ve put together this book, would you publish it for me under the FTD imprint” kind of things. It doesn’t seem like something that was commissioned specially for the label. Unless they’ve discovered some new tapes that we haven’t heard before, then the inclusion of the CDs is just a way of trapping the OCD fans who feel like if they don’t buy it then their collection would be incomplete.

I’ll take the soundboards.

At least the CDs this time around are the bonus items that FTD books used to have, rather than audio items that most fans want to have but don't want to purchase bloody great big books in order to obtain!

I wonder why 2 CDs for Celluloid Sell-Out. You can easily fit all those songs on one CD.

Which makes you wonder why not a single official CD has ever put those four soundtracks together on a single disc! You'd think it would be an obvious release, right?

Shows were only six weeks apart, with a drastic amount of weight loss (starvation) in between. I expect he'll sound far less drowsy in Madison. Hoping for good quality and grateful to still have FTD churning out the E.

One out of the three for me. I have yet to start off down the FTD vinyl trail, and I'm saving my money for the year's end FTD release of the EOT material (and Book). The two-fer soundboard set is all I'm getting. So far, the Sept. and October of 1976 shows that I have heard have been enjoyable and have good sound. It seems as though Elvis started to get his stuff together after the terrible Houston show in late August of 1976 - maybe that was even a semi-wake-up call for him. Looking forward to another couple of pieces of the puzzle of the concert years ('69 - '77).

Some of the tracks can be heard on the bicentennial show ftd as they were added as bonus. Good balance and Elvis sounds clear voice wise

Well at least these are 2 more "Good" 1976 shows...particularily the closing Pine Bluff show is "Good" most of the missing songs from the Pine Bluff show i do not really miss except missing HGTA is certainly missing a real show highlight and that is a real pity.Valid points which really do seem to point to 2nd Oct 76 tour week being 'missing' another pity because they were longer & better shows. . Still if i have to get 2 more 1976 soundboards these are 2 good uns and that is quite ok and i will buy them

I still wouldnt be suprised if they do have some from the 2nd half of the october tour but simply keeping them so they have more good shows to balance in the future considering that it seems like most shows they have are from 74 and 76.. so keeping some good ones to the side for future releases wouldnt be out of the question.

"pine bluff to madison" instead of "madison to pine bluff" and that the pine bluff show belongs on the 1st cd chronologically?

I'm getting the LP ... but I have to say, I din't think it was possible, but what a boring and unflattering cover. That cover photo is terrible, and there were so many good ones to choose from

I agree... I'm a little disappointed with the cover of that LP... I guess I was expecting something different... Like maybe a fight photo or something more flattering anyway. I'll still be ordering it though for my collection. Passing on the others...

Ahhhh, September 8, 1976... the very last time I saw my hero. I've had the audience recording for a long time, and it will be nice to have a companion FTD release to go along with it. The show was good and Elvis was in a good mood as I recall. Maybe that night's sleep in his own bed was good for him...

Yes a detailed look at these 2 x 1976 shows reveals both one 'incomplete' and one has had several tracks already released before. So i am not 'over excited' but still will be enjoyable enough i guess.I mentioned before but two july shows would be worth a better hearing as both are quite 'ok' shows namely Shreeveport 1st July 76 + Springfield 29th July 76.it is also pretty unusual that the first week of the Oct 76 tour has been soundboard released! Only other time that happened was 7 more shows from the may/june 75 tour!

In the announcement text it says

FTD is pleased to announce the release of ELVIS: PINE BLUFF to MADISON ‘76.

but on the cover it's the other way around. Typical sloppiness. Also, is it just impossible to utilize a photo from the actual show on the cover?
