I also like the tape box idea, it fits perfectly. I like how they haven't put the album cover on the sleeve, it doesn't shatter the illusion that you are looking at a tape box, so the artwork department have made a wise decision (I hope they can make wiser decisions with the 5" line up).
If it is being mastered by Vic and Sebastian then there is nothing to worry about.
It'll be intresting to see where this series is going to go. If this series covers reheasals (which it should) then I'm hoping for the July 1970 rehearsals, then August 1970 rehearsals in a Vol. 2, please FTD.
That's great news !
Thankfully Ernst and the FTD team ignored all the idiots who didn't want this released
Did anyone actually say they did not want it released per se - I think many said they were not interested in such a release or would not buy it, especially if the price was wrong as they would effectively e paying a higher price just for some unreleased outtakes. Why does that make them idiots? Some might argue that you are an idiot if you are willing to pay $45 for an hours worth of outtakes.

They probably copied that idea from the Beatles super deluxe edition Pepper set from last year.

Makes sense to me, if i recall Jamie Aaron Kelley (JAK) also suggested the tape box idea to Ernst as he mentioned it a few times on this board.

if true and that`s a big if...it`s not like it`s the first time
Roger told me years ago that they took the concept for the 7" Classic Series from EMI's Cliff Richard release of Summer Holiday. So anything is possible in picking up ideas. I had hoped that they would have included a book with a few more pages than 28 though.

This was also available via Spotify - wonder if FTD will follow suit?

It would be intresting to see if it does happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't add it to Spotify and other streaming platforms, the reason being is because FTDs aren't really ment for general public. The Beatles box was ment for the public and mainly the Beatles fans.
Despite everything else that will be relevant (tracklisting, price etc.) the package looks really beautiful. I have a soft spot for the tape box design, no matter what artist or content.
Looking forward to having more details on this one.
As expected, the next FTD turned out to be the much anticipated Viva Las Vegas 3-CD set. Visually, it’s a stunner, and I’m definitely going to secure myself a copy of this beauty. I’m certain that the contents will be equally pleasing.
Now, what happened to that mega box of mid-’70s live concert material that some goofball announced in some thread or other on this forum?

I was hoping it would mirror the price of the jungle Room or Stax Sessions sets at £29.99. £40 is almost double the price of a normal dbl classic album, so if we as collectors want this, we are paying what appears to be a premium price for what is apparently just o er an hours worth of outtakes.

Gotta say I was also hoping for a £30 price tag. At £40 I'll have to think it over...
I'm Not excited about this FTD release, but I have pre-ordered it and looking forward to playing the complete sessions once they arrive through my door.
Hopefully this is going to be just the beginning, and as a limited edition it is perfect for those who want it,
Those that don't want it no need to worry that FTD have gone bust due to over printing.
This is what FTD is all about in my view.
Thanks Ernst and Co.
