The Journey - The World's First Superstar

2003

DVD: This programme takes an in-depth look at the boy who was born to be a legend. It was as a teenager that the Elvis bandwagon began to roll allthough the passage of time proved to be rockier than anticipated. Together with rare unseen footage we chart his progress from his poor beginnings, through his teenage years to the eventual meteoric rise of a star. Here you can see the events unfold in his life, which were to colour and shape his career. Including his call up and the later battle with his weight to the sudden and unbelievable end of the rock'n roll legend.

CD: In his own words, Elvis provides a rare insight into the personality that was the man. Here he tells of how he became the legend we know and the start of his march to stardom. Of how rock'n roll was not only to catapult a largely unknown country boy to international stardom, but also to introduce to the world's teenagers a reason to rock and the government a reason to be concerned.

BOOKLET: The writers have composed a booklet that illustrates in clour and black and white photgraphs a truly compelling and informative account of the life of Elvis Presley the legend and the individual. In it you will read rare accounts and insights of a man that was tragically arrive too soon at the final chapter.

Great looking DVDbox with these titels: "Remembering Elvis", "Early Elvis" & "Elvis at the movies". All these 3 DVDS give you a good look over Elvis his career and private life. This is what the first DVD contains: Elvis Aaron Presley was born in Tupelo, Missippi on January 8, 1935. His twin brother Jessie Garon was stillborn. So Elvis grew up as an only child. Little did his parents know that he would also become a living legend. Elvis'musical influences were the pop and country music of the time, the gospel music he heard in church, and the black R&B he absorbed as a Memphis teenager. in 1954 he began his singing career with the legendary SUN records label in Memphis. His talent, good looks, sensuality, charisma and good humor endeared him to millions as did the humility and kindness he demonstrated throughout his life. Known the world over, he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Running time from this DVD is 48 minutes.

The second DVD contains: Elvis thought of himself as just a country boy and maybe it was that innocent quality combined with a fantastic energy level that made him so special. From his first recording on the SUN label, people recognized that this is what legends are made of. In his personal appearances, all his magic was fulfilled. Elvis had moves on stage that were unique to him alone. This unique program encompasses all phases of this remarkable entertainer. You will see rare footage, film clips, stills and information that will delight every trivia lover. His untimely death and the ravages of excess that overtook his later years are of course, part of history. But Elvis Presley in his younger years.... he was something else. Running time from this DVD is 60 minutes. The third DVD contains: ... when most people hear the name they immediately think of either the swivel-hipped rock'n'roller of the 1950's or the jump-suited dynamo of the Las Vegas years. But Elvis Presley was far more than just the King of Rock'n'Roll. He was a full fledged moviestar who did more than 30 films in his long career, each one of them a box office success. He was also the first star in history to make over one million dollars a movie, and even saved an entire studio from bankruptcy with one film. ELVIS AT THE MOVIES is a look back at the man, the star, and the films that made Elvis Presley one of the biggest names in movie history. This DVD runs for 60 minutes.
