Elvis Motorcycle Photo Help

Mon Jul 31, 2006 3:27 pm

A good friend of mine returned from a visit to South Dakota, Wyoming and all parts in between. He sent this photo to me. Does anyone have a shot of Elvis riding this motorcycle, or any other pertinent information?

Even though it' s a bit hard to tell from the photos in the book (Elvis - behind the image vol 2) I believe this bike to be the same one pictured on page 130. The set of three photos shwos Elvis returning from his mothers grave site, where he had placed an arrangement of flowers. According to the fan who took the photos they were taken on the 11. of august, 1977.

Thanks for that, Eivind. I'll have to look around through my stuff and see what I can come up with. Having a date helps a lot. Much appreciated.... :D

Can’t be a Dyna Glide. They weren’t made until the 90’s.

If it is 1976, it is an FLH (Electraglide). The type of motor would have been a shovelhead (they started in ‘69 or so).

I'd love to see close ups of the photos parrallel to the headlights.

That's NOT the same motorcycle as on page 130 in above mentioned book. The one in the book has two headlights and the one posted here has only one.

Doesn't look like any motorcycle I've seen Elvis ride.

Brian, I stand corrected!
Not the same head lights. But a part from that it looks quite similar. Same manifactuar, different bike? Hell knows, this guy bought a lot of bikes :D

Note the Harley badge is missing from the tank. Perhaps Elvis had it custom painted?
