I DID IT! I DID IT! Thanks, all!!!!!!

Sun Dec 18, 2011 8:08 am

Thank YOU!!!!!! Especially "you, and you know who." Haha!! Here she is, my first. So far, I used stills, but I'll learn. I'll learn! Meanwhile, I have wanted to do this for SO LONG with this oddly "prophetic" song. No way anyone could have known in 1967 that this song would fit such images with such perfection. I bit of dark "comic relief" in the mid-section.

Wow. I really did it. Hot dang.

P.S. My Christmas present to myself, and to all who find it enlightening, or maybe even moving.

Okay. I have almost all the photos I need to do my first YouTube, and I know the song I will use (it's so special! Elvis didn't sing it, and the singer didn't write it . . . you can't use that recording, but this will do fine). You'll like it!! I think so. I hope it has a powerful impact when you watch it. I don't want to make a clunker; I want people to watch, and feel, and think. The first one is clearly the hurdle.

I don't know which software to begin with.

Some you purchase, and some come with monthly fees (NO!), and some are "lite" and "Pro," etc.

I want something good, stable, room for growth, but not monstrously hard to learn! In fact, one with a good tutorial would be nice.

I have this song I want to YouTube to some very special Elvis-related pics. Oh, I want to do it so badly!!!

Please, folks. Those of you YouTube-ing masters (JimmyCool comes to mind), what do I do at this point? I have this marvelous idea in my head. I can SEE the video. I just can't make the video yet. HELP!

I don't think that program is on there. I have XP SP 3. I doubt it has such a program. Older laptop, but very good specs. I have it story-boarded in powerpoint just now. First draft.

Many thanks for the reply!

Thanks! I gotta look around "My Computer" (which I renamed, and which annoyed the "Geek Squad" dude: "you have all these names for your computers! What does 'Mare Ingram' mean?" And I told him. :smt005 )

I am a silly "girlie," sometimes. (As Elvis expressed it in "Never Say Yes.")

Hope all is there, and I can just do it. I hope it has a "timer" function like in Powerpoint. If you're synching the images closely to the lyrics, every second matters. It's gonna be great, I think. And that's "warming up" on this. I want to get good at it.

Many thanks, again!

P.S. -- Just to clarify:
Elvis-Australia wrote: Another, favored for her speed over her looks, was a grade mare, Elvis named Mare Ingram in honor of Memphis Mayor William B. Ingram. The Mayor was slow to have something in Memphis named after Elvis, eventually renaming a portion of U.S. Hwy 51 (that runs past Graceland) Elvis Presley Boulevard, but not before Elvis had named the mare in his 'honor'.

Taking a bow.

{never liked that goofus "curtsy" routine . . . very funny, though on "I Love Lucy." I think that's when she got sunburned. Ya'll get that over there, dontcha? I still watch it and still laugh.)

This was so awesome . . . I had this idea for a long time . . . and now, I did it!

Ah, I knew there were such tools. I think I'm getting good, pretty fast. Have you seen my latest? These ideas for them have been in my head for a while. Now, they're reality! Hot dang!

Anyway, it keeps giving me "edit" buttons, but I chose the "standard" YouTube license, not that "creative commons" thing, so is it just showing up cause YouTube knows who I am? I mean, they have a map, and know where I live, which is icky, but it's the times in which we live. I probably told them.

Anyway, when I punch up other videos, it doesn't say "This Video Is Public." Does this just mean anybody can watch it? I didn't give 'em permission to edit. Only me. And I did a couple annotations. But do YOU see the edit buttons on my videos? I didn't pick "creative commons" and I rechecked!

I AM new at this, clearly. But it sure is fun. Hard work, but fun. I don't like it when they just slap photos on there: I like it to be an actual music video, with lyrics, music, and photos all synched nicely to tell a story, my way. Neat.

Have a bunch of ideas, not enough time!

Must enjoy the holidays!!! :smt114

Many thanks.
