I agree.....and there is an unclearness about it too! Matter of fact there are several on this 75 box set that do not sound quite right.Claus wrote:In y opinion, His latest Flame is so different compared to the SFE ftd that I don't even know if it's the same mix. I was shocked when I heard it on the Elvis 75 box. I prefer the version on the ftd as I think this song is one of the few let-downs on the FM set.Matthew wrote:Syncing up the intros to the following tracks show no divergences in playback as one would expect with different tape transfers:
His Latest Flame
That's what I want to know! Do some of you ever feel like you've spent so much time and money on buying all of this same material over and over that a nice "advance promotional" gift would be greaty received and almost due you because of all the loyalty.......oh well...guess I can go on dreaming!Dan_T wrote:elvissessions wrote:Oh, great ... now i get to try to figure out which unmentionable site that might be.
Think the first one that became unmentionable some years back.
PS...Who are these "Special Advance Copies" made for and how would you get hold of one ?
Oh man, I want my copy already. Did the special promo set also come with the book?
Then the new mastering is seriously messed up.Matthew wrote:His Latest Flame sounds like exactly the same mix.
In this event don't we deserve a full and frank explanation from Ernst.Claus wrote:Then the new mastering is seriously messed up.Matthew wrote:His Latest Flame sounds like exactly the same mix.
I agree that it looks cheap, especially compared to the Beatles masters sets which featured mini LPs with incredible attention to detail, together with a high quality booklet providing a detailed overview (Mono masters) or in the case of the stereo masters, individual digipaks featuring original cover art, each with its own booklet containing rare and unpublished photos. However the reason for this is hardly unfathomable.KiwiAlan wrote:With such a pricey set....why they are not using jewel case is unfathomable
I cannot fathom how you're coming to this conclusion - the EQ is vertually identical between the FTD and 75. The mix is identical. Which 75 set is your source? UK? USA? Can you post a sample?Claus wrote:Then the new mastering is seriously messed up.Matthew wrote:His Latest Flame sounds like exactly the same mix.

I just listened to it again and it is the same mix. I still don't like the mastering...Matthew wrote:I cannot fathom how you're coming to this conclusion - the EQ is vertually identical between the FTD and 75. The mix is identical. Since you are not buying it why would Ernst owe you an explanation?
Don´t you get tired of trying to come up with new stuff to critizise Ernst and FTD?
Why not buy what you like and skip the rest?
Just a thought.
Compared to most members I seldom ever criticize a FTD release.minel wrote:Claus wrote:

For clarity - I have merely concluded that some of the tape transfers appear to be earlier than 2007 - not that the remastering work is earlier than 2007. Quite a difference.KiwiAlan wrote:While I am not buying this set...I m buying what I had fondly thought were new 2007 masters.
Claus, I agree with you....and it is not just with this track.....their are others......Claus wrote:I just listened to it again and it is the same mix. Most of the tracks sound fine and Anesini and Jeansson have overall done a stellar job..Deke Rivers II wrote:Claus, I agree with you....and it is not just with this track.....their are others......Claus wrote:I just listened to it again and it is the same mix. Likewise cheers and thanks for your fantastic scans, dude!
elvissessions, unfortunately I can't listen to the "Milkcow Blues Boogie" excerpt - what am I doing wrong ???
Is it working for other floks?
This is fascinating ... Another remix on a big Hit single ?Matthew wrote:"Return to Sender" is a new mix with a wider stereo image than previous releases. The band is hard left and backing vocals hard right on the '07 remaster.
