Looks like they were trimmed already since November. I seem to recall them being shorter at the Opry in December too.

Thanks davide for posting this one. How sure are you of the date on this photo?
I've been wondering when this was taken as it seems Elvis' sideburns are very short.
The cap is the one we see him wearing on his way to Hawaii in November 1957.

It looks like he's wearing the same sweater underneath as in the first photo posted by me on April 9 at 11:06 p.m.

I guess my photo (as mentioned in previous sentence) is from the evening of March 14 after Elvis got back home as it was in the Memphis Press Scimitar the following day. I doubt Elvis would have been up and away that early in the morning for the photo to appear in the paper the same evening.

Hi Brian

This comes from an E bay sale from 2007, The description was
'Super Rare Snapshot Elvis Presley Sunglasses 1958' and 'This vintage, original snapshot was taken by an amateur photographer. It is a bit blurry, but that does not detract from the sheer rarity of this motive. Someone wrote "March 15, 1958" on the back of the photo, which means it was taken just before Elvis joined the Army' - This is the only info I have

Thanks again davide, let's hope the date of the photo is correct.
Here's another one from the same date.

Here's some shots of Elvis aboard the train going home to Memphis on March 13, 1958.
Text on the hanger in the third photo says "Property of the Pullman Company."

I expanded the dates on the thread to include these pics.

Enjoy

To Brian

Thanks for the images of the train ride on the 13th of March 1958,this is the journey when he got off at Dallas and drove back to Memphis?

Alan Fortas : Train travel was as slow as a government check, and being the the antsy guy he was,Elvis decided we'd get off the coach in Dallas, and rent a fleet of Cadillac limos to take us into Memphis. Renting cars wasn't any faster,of course, but it made Elvis feel in control. Photographers from the newspapers seemed to be everywhere when we stopped off the train, and the Fort Worth Daily Star snapped a picture of Elvis kissing a pretty dark-haired girl on the cheek. When it ran in the paper, I was surprised to see myself standing behind him.

'Elvis from Memphis to Hollywood'

Any more photo's from this time?

Yes davide, this is the journey when Elvis got off the train in Dallas and drove to memphis in rented car(s) arriving around 6:30 p.m.
The incident Alan Fortas is talking about with Elvis kissing a pretty brunette and the photo with Fortas in the background ending up in the newspaper is the one from my other thread "Elvis kissing girl on train" which happened on January 11, 1958 on their way TO Hollywood.
