Happy, happy birthday, baby! It´s Elvis media-day today here in Germany! Newspapers, tv, radio, - the KING is everywhere! Looks like everybody wants to congratulate...
What a anniversary!

Another Elvis birthday thread? Isn't there one already started? Oh, I guess we needed a "Doc approved" one....

Aye. But DJC's remark is a little reference pertaining to the advert.
25 ... 50 ... 75
Each of those is a milestone, but EP didn't make it to the second. Gives one pause.
Happy 75th, Elvis! Thanks for the music -- and so much more!

I remember the 50th birthday in 1985 so clear. Hard to fathom he would have been 75 already.

I am old enough to remember the 30th B-Day in 1965(ouch).
Seems one of the teen shows at that time(Shindig or Hulabaloo)had a special birthday tribute to Elvis that year.
Anyway,Happy Birthday Elvis!

Nicely done. What better way to make the day than some NBC-TV Special material.

Indeed.
At his best, Elvis Presley is THE BEST.
The NBC-TV Special (June 1968) is Elvis at his best.

Nice post, DJC.
I often times find something "new to me" in your posts.
Really enjoyed the Shindig! clips.
I had no idea that Jerry Lee had a sister in the entertainment field.
You can see a similarity around their mouths.
I wonder how the Killer felt about his kid sis' paying homage to Elvis?
James looks pretty cool, if not somewhat out of place, in his "mod" clothes.
I prefer the college prep look with Ricky Nelson, but lots of fun.
Thanks for taking the time to send us something new.

Nice advert - I don't see it enough.
What a treat to see a good deal of Turner Movie Classics (TMC) broadcast of ELVIS ON TOUR tonight on primetime (following a nice retrospective on Fox) , and now TTWII, which is on as we speak. Priscilla and Jerry Schilling were guests as commentators between the movies.
We put on THIS IS ELVIS (the DVD) and watch big portions of it. and it lives up to Dave Marsh's rave about it from many years ago.I l always enjoyed that film - faults and all.
