He must have really liked that jacket.
At least I know horses, and the ones with long ears are usually jackasses.

Please delete that comment -- it's grossly offensive, not funny at all.
There are at least a FEW female members of this forum, and I cannot imagine a single one of them appreciating such a crude posting.
Thanks.

If the date is January 15, 1971, Elvis had something FAR more important coming up the next day in Memphis.thefunkyangel wrote:He flew out again on the 24th enroute to Vegas for his engagement at the International.

Re: Friday - Jan. 15th '71 Candid!
DJC, Paul quoted you as the source in relation to the time frame - http://www.elvis-collectors.com/candid-central/trousdale.html - of these photo's. I was sent these photo's via email and they were dated April 23rd '71. Obviously these are wrongly dated, however, it would be safe to say that these are from the 23rd of January (???). Would you tend to agree? Are these the only photo's of Presley taken between the 17th and the time he flew out to Vegas?! Thank you in advance! Cheers!drjohncarpenter wrote: If the date is January 15, 1971, Elvis had something FAR more important coming up the next day in Memphis.

Apparently, they are but, you're welcome, Doc. Crude, sexist jokes shouldn't be welcome here, IMO, because of the women on the board. I hold women in high regard and I found it rather offensive simply because, as you said, there are several female members on here (and one member who has a little daughter, for Pete's sake, IIRC?).drjohncarpenter wrote:Thanks, Tony.Tony Trout wrote:I agree with you on all three requests, Doc. That was a totally and completely uncalled for comment!!
I guess crude, sexist jokes are OK with the moderators.
Scott,
Not that my suggestion will do a bit of good, but, I suggest you think twice before making such further crude and distateful comments. I'm not a Mod, but if I were, you would've been severely chastised - or worse.[/b]
As an aside, does anyone know the last time Elvis ever wore that "'68 Comeback Special/Nixon" jacket??

Those are two different jackets -- IIRC, he never wore anything from the show after taping was completed. Bill Belew likely designed both, though.Tony Trout wrote:As an aside, does anyone know the last time Elvis ever wore that "'68 Comeback Special/Nixon" jacket??

No, the jacket used on the show in 68 is the same one he wore on his visit to Nixon

That is correct, James. The jacket is, in fact, the same jacket as worn in the "'68 Comeback Special" even though it may not look like it. Leroy Smith - who is a member here but can't seem to access his account for some reason - had a discussion with Bill Belew and Butch Polston of B&K Enterprises and he (Leroy) can confirm this information.
