I heard that people were walking out all over the place. One guy was even heard saying, "I can't stay here. The rhythm of the show is all messed up now."
It had to have been very uncomfortable for our star attraction.

At the present time, yes.
I seriously doubt that anyone in attendance, other than Sam, of course, felt that the rhythm of the show had been ruined.
