Best track on "Recorded live on stage in Memphis" LP 1974

If it were listed I'd vote for "Let Me Be There." Since it isn't I'll go with " Trying To Get To You." I don't care for Elvis' Live version of HGTA (Grammy Award not withstanding). Too over the top. Prefer the more understated studio version.

Man, this version is understated compared to the one on EIC! The wierdest thing about this album, though, is the cover. All of Elvis' album covers (except Elvis Country and Wonderful World of Christmas) in the 70's were live shots, so what do they choose for this, a live album? Photos of Graceland! Bizarre, just bizarre! One of the used records stores here in town had the Pickwick "Double Dynamite" in the "Elvis live albums" section, until I told the owner "no, it's studio stuff", just the same cover as the Madison Square Garden album!" Pickwick also recycled the "Elvis Now" photo for their version of "Frankie & Johnny". Gotta love the Colonel's art dept! lol

Yes, I agree this version is understated compared to EIC. Memphis version is over the top. EIC version is waaaaaaaaaaay over the top. I like that version even less.

The Colonel's Art Dept? No problem. I love "Separate Ways" and "Sings For Children." Just to name two tacky covers. So tacky they're good.

The roaring Trying To Get To You. Classic rendition but also completely different rendition of the song compared to the 68 sit-down performance and the original SUN cut.

After a strong finish from "How great thou art", it splitted the top place with "Trying to get to you". Ok in my book!

Let Me Be There should have been a single release in 1974 but RCA bollocks that up as well.
This would have been a top 5 chart record in the UK.

That´s the good thing as the runner of the poll. I decide which track to remove .
Hold on, you can choose it on the "Moody blue" album. Yes, See see rider has been on poll before, but a slightly different version. This one is more typical (not better) of his 70´s tours. And it´s way better than the aloha version. More attack.
