Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
"Shop Elvis" has the Christmas Duets CD available for "pre-order." There are three bonus tracks by Elvis, which say "2008." I assume that means remastered 2008, or, perhaps, new backing tracks recorded 2008.
Below is the info from "Shop Elvis."
Mystery Train
This first-ever Elvis Duets album pairs Elvis with some of Country Music's top female vocalists singing Christmas favorites.
Track Listing:
1. Blue Christmas with Martina McBride
2. I'll Be Home For Christmas with Carrie Underwood
3. Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane) with LeAnn Rimes
4. Santa Claus Is Back In Town with Wynonna Judd
5. Silent Night with Sara Evans
6. White Christmas with Amy Grant
7. Merry Christmas Baby with Gretchen Wilson
8. O Little Town Of Bethlehem with Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town
9. Silver Bells with Anne Murray
10. O Come, All Ye Faithful with Olivia Newton-John
Bonus Tracks
11. The First Noel (2008) Elvis Presley
12. If I Get Home On Christmas Day (2008) Elvis Presley
13. Winter Wonderland (2008) Elvis Presley

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
It will be a great Christmas without this one! I stick to the originals they're doing just fine. Don't need no desperate housewifes and country chicks along with Elvis.
Mrry Christmas.
Mrry Christmas.

This is an album I will not bother buying.

A fairly inauspicious start to the whole "duets" approach.
Hoping for better down the line.

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
This could be Elvis' biggest hit since 30 No.1 Hits in the U.S.A. providing Sony give it enough TV exposure. I hope to buy every different version that is released.
Disappointed that there are three songs not shown as duets. It is either a 'Duets' album or it is not.

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
I'm thinking that the Elvis (2008) songs listed are going to be updated with new music to match the sound with the rest of the c.d....

They played Blue Christmas and Here Comes Santa Claus at the expo in Memphis and they were awful. Sounded very ameteur and false.

Maybe they were the rough mixes....................................Swingin-Little-Guitar-Man wrote:They played Blue Christmas and Here Comes Santa Claus at the expo in Memphis and they were awful. Sounded very ameteur and false.

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I thought the duets on "Blue Christmas" and "Here Comes Santa Claus" were quite good, especially on "Blue Christmas."

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
It was a verse by elvis then a verse by the woman then back to elvis with an appalling edit making him come in a fraction early. And the Leanne Rimes harmony's were worse than VOICE!

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
I will only buy this album if Elvis gives his permission to have his recordings be tampered with.

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
Is there a reason why it is all female duets?
A few years ago Alan Jackson did a duet with the late Keith Whitley and it sounded great.
I wonder why no male singers we're used?

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
Hope it's good...if it's bad, there will be no point in doing another one next year.
Wonder what "O Come All Ye Faithful" sounds like with Olivia Newton-John! She better not have ruined the reputation of my favorite Elvis Christmas song. In my humble opinion that particular track would better be left alone or, featured as one of the Bonus Songs.
Do the artists featured alongside Elvis have the calibre to make the record appeal to none-Elvis fans. I mean, there's no Madonna or Celine or Mariah, so will it work?

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
As I assumed previously only ten "new" tracks. Pretty mean!
So no doubt the other ten Christmas oops holiday tracks will be on a 2009 version.
That aside I'm looking forward to this. With such a small tracklist downloads could be a cheaper option for many people.

Re: Christmas Duets -Tracks ("Shop Elvis")
I'm sure RCA has asked Sylvia Brown...after all she's right about everything, after all Giulliani IS going to win the election this year and the price of gas DID go way down this summer like she said it would...of course my favorite is when she told the parents of a kid that the kid was dead but they found out a couple years later that he was indeed alive..............so of course Elvis told Sylvia it was o.k. to do this c.d.....ColinB wrote:Err........................................................ who's gonna ask him ?javilu wrote:I will only buy this album if Elvis gives his permission to have his recordings be tampered with.

Gail Brewer Giorgio. She has Elvis e-mail and a recording where Elvis tells the story of how he faked his own death.ColinB wrote:Err........................................................ who's gonna ask him ?javilu wrote:I will only buy this album if Elvis gives his permission to have his recordings be tampered with.
