What function of this forum do you appreciate the most?
We all use it for different reasons at different times, but what is the main reason you come here ?

Learning about Elvis from the Doc, and a few others of course.

The lovely women.

I ALWAYS check the FECC board before going anywhere else-even the Australia board. The people here are so informed.
Tue Jul 29, 2008 6:39 am
Oh, thank you!
Tue Jul 29, 2008 7:29 am
I must admit the Doc is a good guy

I chose other, as it cannot just be One in my opinion. I have always liked it here because of the first 5 on the list.1. obtaining relevant information
2. giving relevant information
3. reading breaking Elvis news
4. discussing specific Elvis topics with other fans
5. feeling a part of the larger Elvis world community

Your kind, accurate words are warmly appreciated,

I like hashing out arguments and opinions with the other fans about the ins and outs of Elvis' career. It's also cool to receive breaking information. Connecting to the larger Elvis community is tops even though I guess it really encompasses everything. Most of the folks here might not even know another hardcore Elvis fan in their personal lives and it's very cool to make contact with like minded people and share an enthusiasm.

3, 2 and 1 (in that sequence).
Discussing Elvis I rather do with my many friends here in Rotterdam as I can do that in Dutch so there is no "lost in translation" misunderstanding.

Liverbobs often has nice avatars as well. I liked the ironing Elvis. Too bad it was gone before I could show it to my wife.
I chose obtaining relevant information. I'm willing to share as well but I don't know much (if anything) regarding Elvis that isn't common knowledge over here.

I chose No.5 but it could have been any.
No.5 was how i felt when i went to Graceland during Elvis week.
And I also think James' avatars are a drawcard (well at least for hot-blooded males!)

What do you like MOST about this Elvis forum ?
The polls ... and the quizzes.

It's just good to discuss Elvis with other fans.
I bore my workmates to death as everytime
music is discussed it always ends up in an
arguement about Elvis, you know the usual,
he wasn't that great as he didn't write his own
songs. At least here we all know how great he
was and don't have to justify his position as
the greatest entertainer ever.

I like that there is a large group of very knowledgeable and interested people to share the information with that I like most to research and clarify (without me being the fan that most of you here are). I appreciate that they ask great questions that inspire me to look for answers, sometimes from the few people left that have first hand knowledge that I am fortunate enough to have access to. I like that they also have the knowledge, resources and willingness to assist and help get it right.
and also James' Avatars (that's Krista btw, say hello to Krista)

And writing songs doesn't necessarily means writing memorable songs.
We all remember the cream of the crop of the 60s like Dylan, The Doors, The Beatles, but there are many, many acts from that era whose songs either nobody remembers or are so *dated* that they become laughable now.
Or worse: uninteresting.
An often brilliant interpreter like Elvis isn't inferior to a singer-songwriter because he didn't write his own songs, not by a long shot. I equally appreciate other great interpreters like Bobby "Blue" Bland, Dean Martin or Aretha Franklin. They can totally transform a song into something divine.

Absolutely, 100% spot-on,

Hard to pick just one of these options, but my main reason for hanging around here, is to get relevant information and to catch the latest/ breaking Elvis news.
This is the main Elvis site I always go to, to check out what's happening in the Elvis world!

It's great here for very informed and specific information and photos.
I also like reading intelligent and grammatically correct posts, with paragraphs and everything. That makes a huge difference to me.
I don't like it much when bickering develops, nor am I particularly thrilled with a thread I found whilst searching for
Naked Gun
, but I can live with that.
If all else fails I'll start a thread about Matthew McConaughey's pecs and Gabriel Garko's bum, and expect no bleating from the men.
