Did you think the shadow behind Bill Black was hair ?E-Cat wrote:who is the lady:

Re: Some Elvis photos from PoPsie site
In 2002 - when Speer was 85 - he told Commercial Appeal that he was negotiating with a New York Collector - who offered an undisclosed sum un what Speer calls 'the high six-fugure range" for his orginal negatives. Seemst that Popsies brother, Michael Randolph was that New York Collector.TALLHAIR 2 wrote:why is the 1955 publicity portrait made by Memphis photohrapher Speer sold on a Popsie site?

This is correct.JamesVRoy wrote:Actually from left to right: Bill Black, D.J.Fontana, Hugh Jarrett, Neal Matthews, Elvis Presley, Gordon Stoker, Hoyt Hawkins, Scotty Moore
Always interesting that Al Wertheimer has never mentioned the presence of PoPsie in the RCA NY studios that day. At the very least they must have had some crossover during their respective photo sessions -- it appears Wertheimer was there for "Hound Dog" and rehearsals of "Don't Be Cruel," and PoPsie for "Don't Be Cruel" and "Any Way You Want Me."
